Re: Intriguing ad in RC Car Action - RC10 re-release?
Last week I Emailed JConcepts and asked if they had any plans on making tires for the 1.9 and 1.5 stock RC10 wheels and the answer I got back was that modern rubber is too soft for those 3 piece wheels and they are working on a project for the car. I'm assuming they will make wheels that modern tires will fit on,that would be the obvious choice for a "project". Keep our fingers crossed!

I was also interested in the part of the interview that Eustace of MIP was giddy that Associated was doing the re-re. Wouldn't it be sweet if MIP re-released...

End of August, beginning of September is the time frame I understand.

i don't get why everyone is hung up on the lack of pics.
they probably don't have a single unit made yet. it's a goldie after all, we all know what they look like.
thye have a couple of modded parts to allow lipo.

Funny that Associated can't get a photo of the goods out, yet Yokomo are advertising their Dogfighter !

Re: Intriguing ad in RC Car Action - RC10 re-release?
The hotest motor I've ever attempted to put in the 6 gear was a novak 4.5T in an old, very broken-in 6 gear, with bearings, and half the tranny was 48p thorp.
it didn't break any gears, but the slipper/diff loosen'd after about 60% throttle, which saved the tranny.
I don't think the gears will be a problem anymore, but keeping the slipper-diff together will if someone chooses to over-"P0WA!" the buggy.
I cruise around with my old one now with the traxxas Slash stock 12T 550 motor, which is reliable and has this thing called 'Torque" and is easy enough to drive.
I could see a 17.5 being a very driver-friendly motor. 13.5 is pushing it.
Anything beyond that I'd suggest you bring a small broom, dust pan, magnet, and a ziplock bag to collect any salvageable remains from your inevitable crash

and no front-cab bodies on a classic.
That's considered a dress-code violation and if I'm track directing you'll be asked to correct the issue before coming out in public again.

1.9 and 1.5 one piece wheels with some sweet vintage sized modern rubber would be the real ticketmenace wrote:Last week I Emailed JConcepts and asked if they had any plans on making tires for the 1.9 and 1.5 stock RC10 wheels and the answer I got back was that modern rubber is too soft for those 3 piece wheels and they are working on a project for the car.
