MINI T, anyone have one?
Re: MINI T, anyone have one?
it's at least 4 times faster then it was with 4 AA's.
granted the smash tires are bigger then standard mini t tires so top end is going to be higher.

Oh god, my son is gonna love it - its gonna be a question of how long it holds together before he breaks it then!kaiser wrote:it's at least 4 times faster then it was with 4 AA's.

Re: MINI T, anyone have one?
i gotta get some foams for this little guy the big meats are traction roll city.
Re: MINI T, anyone have one?
losi oil shocks and boca bearings installed, it handles much better now, but i still need some foams.
it's a hoot, i haven't even run the battery all the way down, after about 20 minutes i need a rest. one of these days i'll toss a lipo
alarm on it and see how long a full 1600mah will run for.
now it's time to start playing with cardboard, build some jumps and start experimenting with a wall turn.
i'm starting to really enjoy 1/18 scale, so much so that i'm looking at associateds offerings.

Re: MINI T, anyone have one?
I'm not sure if RC Madness will be holding the Mini-Nats this year as the number of 1/16th & 1/18th scale racers has dwindled in the NE. If they are holding it, it might be worth your time to take the trip to Enfield, CT. They always have some really fast mini racers from around the country.
Re: MINI T, anyone have one?
i picked up some gpm titanium turnbuckles for it as the sloppy plastic stock units made the truck very squirrely.
Re: MINI T, anyone have one?
the postie just dropped off a baja bug mini t body from team blue groove.
i must say the quality is much better then it used to be, i'm impressed.

"MINI T, anyone have one?"
Why yes I do, 2 and a half actually. I bought the Pro off of Craigslist last year new in box for about $40 and the other was built beyond pro specs just because I had painted a body for it years ago so needed a Mini T to put it on
Up until recently neither had been run but when deciding to run the T I scraped some spare electronics together for it. A mini lst servo and radio set, a Tekin g9 esc, a stock mini lst motor (which required a big bore motor plate) and found it plenty fast on 6 cell nimh. It is still barely controllable
The tape was put on the chassis in a futile attempt to minimize wear..

Re: MINI T, anyone have one?
not really. once outdoor season hit all my mini's and carpet cars got shelved. i'm sure i'll get back to it once it gets too cold to run outside.vwjuice wrote:Have you done anything more with the mini-t?
this year has been busy, not too much rc race time for me this year.
i installed the adjustable tierods and was hoping it would eliminate some of the slop, but it didn't.
how do we get rid of some of that front end slop on these little guys.

Re: MINI T, anyone have one?
I find the mini tierod ends to be the source of sloppiness, Mine got so bad I used a tiny piece of paper over top of ball stud before pushing on rod end. it worked decent but wasnt a long term solution. Anybody have a source for decent mini rod ends?
