Optional / Custom wings for the RC10?

Post by DarthRacer »

I have a question about the wings that were available for the RC10. With the car that I recently traded for, the wing that was included with the car is not lexan, but is metal. I haven't held a magnet to it yet but it is a bit heavy so I think it is steel. I haven't read much about the wings for these cars. I'll get a pic of it later, but does anyone have any information on aftermarket wings?

You can use any 2wd 1/10 buggy wing with the Rc10, you'll just need to make your own holes.
. . . you have Associated Green Slime for brains. And not even new Green Slime, but old gooped out Green Slime.

Good to know.

Were metal wings common 'back in the day' or could I have a custom one? Still need to get a pic up.

There were some aluminum, even titanium back in the day. I don't think they were really used at a pro level cause they were heavy. The one I had was a Thorp unit

This is the wing I have. It looks to me like someone spray painted it a long time ago.

I have a couple of those metal wings - I always thought they were made by Hot Trick?

- Did "The Hot Trick Stuff" make a similar wing???

Hot Trick made one out of titanium. Check out this thread - http://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=20248&hilit=hot+trick+wing

Ahh, mine are definitely the Thorp variety. Thanks for the info!

BTW -
That is one bad-ass Hot Trick buggy in the link!
I don't think I had ever seen that thread...
