Another XX. Just couldn't help myself....!
Picked this up just over a week ago because it appeared to be a really good deal....
....and it was. It's probably only been run a handful of times too!
The XX came with full radio gear including a Futaba Megatech Junior, an MC210CB ESC, a Yokomo stock motor, batteries and a mains charger!
The chassis has required a little work as the top brace was broken through incorrect installation of the servo but I had a spare brace so the problem is now fixed. There's a little more work to do including re-building the shocks but it should hopefully be up and running quite soon....(famous last words !)
These are the before shots - after shots to follow.

Nice find, what's the plan for running this one? Will you race it in vintage?

Yes.....eBay! The reason that you probably didn't see it is because the seller didn't use 'Losi' or 'XX' in the listing title, only in the main body of the text. I only happened upon it by chance, I can't even remember how I came across it to be honest. All I did was put in the required opening bid of £80 and then waited.......Chillout47 wrote:Did you get this off EBay? I don't remember seeing it.....
Right place, right time I guess.

My aim is 'probably' to run it but purely for reasons of nostalgia. However, I haven't made any decisions on that yet because it's in such good condition it would be a shame to 'bash' it up....which actually defeats the reason for buying it!S1mma wrote:Nice find, what's the plan for running this one? I was expecting it to be beaten and used like most of the ones that you see on eBay so to find it in pristine condition was a really nice surprise.
Racing it in the 'vintage' class would be interesting but first I would need a real 1:1 car!

This looks mega clean, very nice indeed. You should race it vintage, it won't get too bashed up if you choose your surface

Another nice specimen. One of these days I'm going to need to see about getting one of these. Find out for myself what the big deals is.

It is.....I'll post some photo's with the body off and you'll see just how clean it really is! The underside of the chassis looks almost new. Race.....I think I might need to (re)learn how to drive it first...oldrc wrote:This looks mega clean, very nice indeed. Rust? I found some of the cap head screws to have a 'little' rust here and there but nothing of any significance. This XX was probably run no more than a handful of times because the 'spikes' on the IFMAR stud tyres still look really sharp!S1mma wrote:Nice find, no signs of rust on the screws? Looks good!

Some after shots. As you can see, the chassis is incredibly clean - looks almost new.
Fitted my own hand-made trans brace. There's an earlier thread of mine that details this.
This came with a full compliment of Futaba radio gear including an MC210CB ESC. Sadly, it doesn't look like the reverse works.
As this XX was built completely stock, I decided to add the front bulkhead brace that I had spare.

That looks minty fresh!!! I had a XXT that was the same, it had a layer of dust/dirt on it, once removed it look new like yours.
Good work.
