A-Stamp Andy's Conversion
A-Stamp Andy's Conversion
Started this one a few months ago. Had a Caddy is pretty good shape I wanted to build, just wasn't sure how. Decided to do a pre-10t truck conversion. Here's how it went...
Re: A-Stamp Andy's Conversion
Beginning assembly with on hand parts... Andy's front and rear arms, and bumper. Various original associated stuff.
Re: A-Stamp Andy's Conversion
Used MIP SP-1?? Tranny. Switched out the spur for an AE 48 pitch in white...

Re: A-Stamp Andy's Conversion
All put together. Added vintage electronics. NIB Futaba Magnum radio system. Used but nice Tekin Sport and B&R Buckshot Motor. Also NIP Thorp turnbuckles and RPM ball cups.
Re: A-Stamp Andy's Conversion
Still needs a few odds and ends... body posts and battery strap, and of course a body. Any suggestions for the body? Trying to keep it "period" as much as possible. May end up switching out the ball cups for dubro maybe?

That came out pretty cool. Those huge tires look like they'd float on water. Don't try it!

Re: A-Stamp Andy's Conversion
awesome build. believe or not this is the exact setup my neighbor's rc10 had when i first raced my rc10 ce against him. i was running the stock mechanical speed control, stock motor, 6 sc cells, and on the 6 gear tranny. the only reason i beat him was because his diff was slipping like crazy. he had it like that because the hobby shop told him that's the way he was suppose to have it. he asked me about it before the race and i told him - sounds about right. LOL afterwards i told him that maybe he should tighten it up a bit.
thanks for sharing. i haven't thought about that guys' rc10 since i saw your build.
