kid show

Post by R Cane »

So I was channel surfing for my kids, to try and find some kid show that didn't make me want to shove an icepick into my brain, I found a show on Sprout. Some of you probably already knew about it, but it's new to me...
It's called Zerby Derby, and it's live action, done with RC cars. We've all seen the annoying animated talking car shows for kids, but this one is kinda cool, especially with the mods they've done for specific vehicles...one has a big water jug on the back, and a functional, remote controlled spray nozzle. Cool cuz it's different, and with real RC equipment. The bodies of course are customized, but one of the chassis looks HPI...they like to run the vehicles through lots of mud... :D

I've actually watched that show! My kids came running and screaming into my room one morning to tell me about it. Not exactly high quality TV programming, but I agree that it is entertaining, especially for kids. I saw a clod buster chassis on there once. That's the only one I recognized. I've always wondered about the rest.

the company that makes the cars said that most cars are based off the axial scx10 or are axial based with custom parts.

I DVRd it and was ready to kill myself after 5 minutes!! Sorry, but I just personally couldn't do it. Their stupid voices made me so mad I was ready to crawl thru the screen and punch somebody! It's probably very much a personal thing with me. My daughter is 9 now so she's moved on, but even when she was little I never allowed her to watch Teletubbies or Barney or any show that I felt was unwatchable. I figure she can cry to her shrink 15 years from now... We did and still do watch a lot of Scooby Doo. It's a very cool concept though; just poorly executed. I think animated cars would cater just as well to the young audience their reaching for. The live action r/c concept may be better for 9-12 yr old boys rather than 2-5. You know what they say about opinions though...
