Re: sending out my bodies to get painted by the man andy him
HI!... I'd be happy to pay someone that's good $40 to paint a body for me. I need a RC10 World's car paint scheme done soon and don't have the time or the patience to do it myself.
102 RC vehicles and counting...

They look like Andy's paint jobs

As a person who painted many bodies BITD, I can tell you that you got a deal. Sorry you don't like them but they do look like his style. I never bought any of his painted bodies because so many people ran them and they weren't my thing. BUt they always look good and the quality of work is always very high.

I like both of them.
And $40 for a 6-7 color painted body is insanely cheap.
I've been quoted two to three times that for 3-4 colors.

Shame you are not happy with both of them.
To be honest I'm happy just to have some bodies painted by the man, and was really excited when I read your 1st post.
To me his paint always stood out, I remember seeing his bodies at the shops, no money for a clear body and a can of pactra much less a badass painted one. I think he is right up there with Mike Tobey (CRP) John Thorp John Gudvangen Eustace Moore etc.. these guys were out there racing and making some really cool parts. Legends of the 80's RC in my opinion.

Re: sending out my bodies to get painted by the man andy him
well for the $ it seems Andy is using the 'retro' pricing guide since those were dirt cheap
. I'm thinkin with this thread he might be getting alot more business sent his way...
I personally look at both bodies as being retro looking IMHO. I don't see flames/tribals/oddballs, etc in it and to me that. You might have alot of $ wrapped up in the body but if you didn't have a detailed, mapped out description of exactly what you wanted I think you got a great deal

Hey, Hugger
Did you get your last paint job back from Andy yet? I contacted Andy on eBay to inquire about a paint job on an Kyosho Advance. I assume his quality of work is top notch and was wondering if you would recommend him after dealing with him 3 times.

still waiting on my last body. his quality is top notch. this recent one he charged me $50 last 2 were $40 each so his price went up a little but well worth it.
Re: sending out my bodies to get painted by the man andy him
I just bought a Blade mid motor cab forward body painted from him off ebay for $30 shipped. At those prices I can't even paint it myself.

Re: sending out my bodies to get painted by the man andy him
I payed him to paint a turbo scorpion for me and it's been over 4 month and nothing! He's promised to ship on 3 separate occasions and most of the time never bothers to reply. He has a turbo scorpion body, tub and my $60. I would definitely not recommend this guy. At this point I am going to have to do a charge back with Paypal.

Re: sending out my bodies to get painted by the man andy him
I am glad you got yours back. I have given up on getting my back, so I opened up a Paypal dispute to get the $60 I paid. What really sucks is I sent the Original tub for painting and decals along with the replica body from MarwanRC. I can get a new replica body, but the original tub is going to be difficult to find. My biggest problem isn't the time it's been it's the lies and lack of communication.
