Next Kyosho Rere?!!!!
Anybody here have any info on what's next for a Kyosho rere? I know it would be here if somebody knew but then again maybe not . Kyosho has always been my favourite brand for their cool 80's/90's cars and I will continue to buy anything they rere!!
Hoping they do a circuit series gas rere, I know it's a long shot but maybe!!
Thanks, Mike

Re: Next Kyosho Rere?!!!!
It might not mean anything, but when Akira Kogawa posted pics of the latest hop-ups for the Scorpion re-re series, I commented that we are ready for the Optima now. He "liked" that comment....
I have strong feeling that the Optima is close

Optima Re Re would be cool.
If they made a Javelin Re Re, my wallet wouldn't be able to come out of my pocket quick enough!
I would not be able to keep myself from buying a Re Re Ultima either, if those were available!

Re: Next Kyosho Rere?!!!!
Last January I was in Tokyo and saw a magazine with an ultima on the cover. It wasn't an RC magazine and I didn't see the article though, so no telling what it means...

Re: Next Kyosho Rere?!!!!
Some of the original Turbo "upgrades" (3-screw rear shock mount (on some turbos, I believe), one-piece rear suspension plate, beefier ball ends and rods, differential) are already incorporated in the Scorpion re-re, and most of the other parts are released as hop ups (front wheels SCH005W or SCH007W, rear wheels SCH006W or SCH008W, roll cage SCW015, light buckets SCW017, wing mount SCW016, front bumper SCW014, and the red shocks from the re-re Tomahawk SC222R and SC223R look more like original turbo shocks than original Tommy shocks).cyberfox wrote:I hope they won't forget the Turbo Scorpion, I would like to have one and waiting for it
So there's very little left for Kyosho to re-re the Turbo Scorpion as well (body, white tub, tires and roof coming to mind). I hope they do, but not if it means delaying the Optima
But nothing's stopping you from making your own turbo right now, as the tires are reproduced by Marwan, the roof by Pargu, the body by both Kamtec and TBG, decals by MCIracing.ca, and there's always white paint for the tub (I believe some turbos actually came with black tubs?). And if you don't fancy the plastic wing mount (SCW016), Pargu makes that one in alu.
So no need to wait for it, just build it right now. I did

Re: Next Kyosho Rere?!!!!
AAaarrgh, if they do an original Optima, I'll *HAVE* to get one, even though I have little cash and the GF would be pissed. The Optima, and the RC10 were my first two cars. Memory being foggy, I can't remember which one I got first. I think I traded a sweet 10-pump BB gun (or something like that, skateboard maybe?) for the Optima. It had a box art body too at the time. I ended up making a truck out of it, and had one of the first wide-body truck shells. They weren't the skinny shells that most people were using where the wheels stick way out, this one actually covered the wheels. Hey, I was doing short-course decades before it was cool! I have an old pic somewhere.
*EDIT* I stand corrected, the truck body was on the Optima Mid I had. Regardless, it was still a long time ago, likely around 1990. There was no real class for me to race that in, so it ended up being a play car, while I raced the RC10.
Optima would be a good choice from a business standpoint, as it shares a lot of parts with other models that they could eventually release.
