Well, I don't have any clear covers to show case lol. If I get my hands on one I'll put it on. I only have one unit though. And RPM would be nice cause they'll match.

Well, I picked up some MIP CVD's for the build. I also ordered my titanium turnbuckles from Lunsford. I hope the shiny CVD's don't overdo the polished theme.

This is such a nice build... I had my eye on that body for a while... but glad you've got it
Major score on those original XX decals - they seem to be very rare these days, perhaps worth doing a scan of them before you cut them out?
Majorly jealous of your polished motor plate - the later version with the radially machined slots seem quite easy to find - but yours has the original diagonal straight slot version - which are again, seem to be XX hens teeth!

I had not noticed the difference in the machining on the polished motor plate. Such attention to detail...always learning something new here.
shoman24v is lucky I still have some original XX decals or I would not have parted with that original sheet

Yes, that early style polished motor plate is definitely a nice touch.

Lusford turnbuckles are in. I swear, I should not have bought the stock lengths. What a bitch to get these in. Practically maxxed out the ballcups up front.

I've recently had the opportunity to purchase two very nice XX-4's. The first one arrived yesterday. Here's some photos of it. I will be updating the thread as I rebuild.
Rebuild time!

Any idea what part number the gold front shock shafts are?
I have been sitting on this project for a long time because I wanted to do it right. But seeing all the pictures of Kinwalds car he is running made me get to work.
This car was my first real RC car I ever bought. It pretty much completely rebuilt...
Picked this car up a few weeks ago off eBay. The overall condition looked promising. When I received the car it was 100% intact and in good shape. The car was covered in leaking shock oil, dust, and rust. The tires were unused but marred with old CA...

What did you clean the white parts with to make them less yellow?
There's no secret combo here. Basically, I used some AJAX w/ bleach dish soap. I believe it runs about a $1.80 at Walmart. I use the dish soap in combination with a toothbrush,...
I'm venturing into the world on RC10 but I honestly have no clue. However it seems RC10 is fairly popular and many of the parts are still available to purchase and Team Associate seems to have a good support for these lovely vintages. I'm...

Thanks for the exploded view. I've picked up a couple stuff today but sadly he had to order the rest :(
Hopefully I can get the bearings cleaned up and re-oil team :D
Hello all. Recently aquired a lot of vintage rcs listed as for salvage and included the rc10 team car rolling chassis. Born in the early 80's, this car was a dream as I ran Tyco and nikko cars while bothering the local hobby shop weekly looking and...

I have a set of team car shocks I picked up off ebay but, they didn't have the seals in them.... :( I looked through an old team car manual, and the rebuilt kit I have doesn't look like the one in the manual? Any suggestions?

Make sure you de-burr all the spacers and make sure there is no plastic flash in them, it will tear up shock seals and make them not work well.
Here goes my first XX4 build. I recently bought Shoman24v's beautiful XX4. I have long since admired this build, and could not resist the chance to own it. It is a nearly all new build.
However, after I received it I decided it had to have all the...

the only thing with the older buggy, is to work on them it a lot longer then the new buggy
I just finished tearing down a JrxT I recently purchased. It is mostly there.
The shock clamps were cracked so I made 3d printed ones for now.
It didn't have wheels. I could use some help finding rear wheels. I have a set of white disk wheels...
