Twisted's old is new ride
Twisted's old is new ride
Well I finally got this car back to a roller. This car will be used this coming winter season on astro turf in mod buggy. Its not done but close. Some might recognize the car as the one used on RCSOUPS web page. We did a right up about it and used it at the vintage nats one year. I took that car and built upon that platform.
what we have:
rc10 aluminum b stamp black tub
rpm arms front and back
carbon works front and rear shock towers
lunsford titanium tie rods
kyosho velvet shocks
original stealth tranny with updated top shaft and slipper
world re release cv joints
world re release inner arm mounts and outer hubs
b4 wing mount
graphite tranny stiffener
b5 batter cradle to use saddle packs
custom front batter strap hold down
A&L bell crank with bearings
custom lexan electronics tray at the front of battery
worlds re release wheels
schumacher mini spike tires with hard grey inserts
more to come.
I can take better pics with a camera if there is interest. This pic was taken with my phone.

Re: Twisted's old is new ride
i got a chance to get the car out on the turf and practice today. i have to say it amazes me that it works as good as it does. the car does need some tweaking. it pushes on high speed corners and it doesnt like the jumps to well. i can hear the car bottom out on the face of the jumps that have no transition. like this / \ (no wheres near that aggressive.
any set up ideas?

well the 1st race is in the books. there was a healthy field of mod buggies, enough to make a full c main. after the 1st round i was in 10th over all an thats not bad for where i race as the competition is fierce.
after the 2nd heat i managed to qualify 4th in the b and finish 5th. the car developed a push that it didnt have in the 1st round. overall the car has plenty of potential.

Looks good. I like the paint. Sometimes those splatter jobs can go horribly wrong, but yours works well.

Looks great! And I also like the paint work,......is that from a rattle-can or an airbrush??

Re: Twisted's old is new ride
Looks awesome.. Are the shocks big bore? Just curious why you have them on the rear of the back tower?
Re: Twisted's old is new ride
the paint is rattle can and thanks for the compliments. the shocks are small bore kyosho velvet's. the tops are different then the associated and they lined up better when mounted on the rear of the tower.
