Vintage 1/8th build, need dating and radio gear opinions.

I'm not an 1/8 gas guy, I'm a 1/12th and 235mm pan guy. But this looked fun, and here we are.

A) Guess on exact age and model

B) What might be good radio gear for it.

I think it's an SG Futura V, not sure on date. likely 79-83? But need to pin down date so that the radio gear better matches the car.

I stuck in some of the old Early Futaba's... I think they're to early for the build.

I enjoy, Schumacher 1/12th, Checkpoint motors, Lazerlite motors, PB Sizzler, Pro Panther-10, Dialed Speed Controls, Paranoia spurs.

Hi Bob, i believe this is a SG Futura 111S. I have the same model...just need to clean it up a bit.

I was just given this monster last week. I know nothing about these. I always used Futaba, or Acoms, but this seems like it might have been a quality unit back in the day. It is in great condition, and complete. Might use it for my old Wild Willy....

Have you actually tested that thing as working yet?

Age & moisture ain't kind to electronics, especially trimpots (wheel & trigger) and capacitors.

Also one annoying particular about Hitec... not sure how far back this started but their servo...

I have the predecessor, FlySky GT3B, and it's great for bashing around .......something you don't find in a lot of other lower-end radios. Being able to limit your servo travel is an essential feature for me.

Just info, the gt2e has servo travel...

Looking for a decent 4ch 2.4GHz transmitter & receiver for my backyard-use Trailfinder 2 crawler. Has anyone usd this one? And who makes it or just a no-namer?

forgot to add that another GREAT feature with the hacked flysky is being able to have a momentary winch. which means the winch will only work when you have the button pressed.

the futaba 4pk and the spectrums dont have this...
