Losi XXT CR Graphite Plus build
I recently purchased a beautiful XXT from member Isles1. Thank you! Here is the link to his build of the XXT - http://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=39172
I have not actually received the truck yet, but am very excited to get it. This will be my first XX/XXT. The truck is composed of mainly new parts. Isles1 looks to have done an amazing job building it.
I plan on converting it into a XXT CR Graphite Plus, with some additional aftermarket parts sprinkled here and there. I think the XX series are great looking, and I have been drooling over the photos of members examples on here.
I have been purchasing parts to convert it to a CR Graphite Plus. I am still waiting on some to arrive, and still hunting for others. The truck currently has a new graphite chassis, however I later realized that I will need an XL graphite chassis to make it a true CR.
The shocks on the truck look to be in great shape, however I could not resist purchasing a set of 4 brand new, unassembled shocks from eBay.
More pictures to come once I get the truck, and more parts arrive.

Re: Losi XXT CR Graphite Plus - Re-Rebuild
Nice lot of parts there - remember also you need CR rear hubs as the toe-in was moved inboard and removed from the hubs themselves.

Re: Losi XXT CR Graphite Plus - Re-Rebuild
CR truck bodies have proved to be quite the difficult find.
Good luck with the build, should be nice.

Thanks. Would these Trinity hubs work?

Re: Losi XXT CR Graphite Plus - Re-Rebuild
Yup! They certainly would, in fact I have a set on my G+. It does mean however that you will have 4.5 degrees of toe-in per side (standard is 3), but for a shelfie it will be fine

The truck should arrive today
Enjoy!
You are also going to need a pivot block. If you go with the XL chassis you will have to drill another set of holes in the bed of that body.
If you sell the shocks that come with the truck, remember they have the TiNi shock shafts which might yield a bit more on resale.

Yes, I will probably be selling the shocks, and will note the TiNi shafts.
Good to know about the pivot blocks. I assumed as much, but have yet to find a set, and figured I would wait until I got the truck to see exactly what I will need.
I love the body, but I don't think I will keep it on this chassis. I have a RC10T that is being rebuilt that will suit it very well. It is an amazing body. I have never seen one in person before, and I love the lines.

Re: Losi XXT CR Graphite Plus - Re-Rebuild
What part number/version of the front spindles/carriers do I want for this to be a true CR? I am assuming A-1120, but not positive.
Thanks!!
Thanks!!

Re: Losi XXT CR Graphite Plus - Re-Rebuild
I don't think they changed them over the XX-T series - A-1125 according to the exploded view diagram.lavigna wrote:What part number/version of the front spindles/carriers do I want for this to be a true CR? I am assuming A-1120, but not positive.

For the pivot block (2 degrees of anti squat) is A-2113.
I have shared the PDF diagram here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B3oWkEiFWV2adVZPTzhRaHlVR00/view?usp=sharing

Re: Losi XXT CR Graphite Plus - Re-Rebuild
Thanks Jamin!
I received the truck, and everything looks great. I know it seems crazy to tear down a truck in such nice condition, but I want to take this build to the next level, the "Jamin Level" of mint, lol. Once done, most everything on the truck will be brand new, with the exception of the front bulkhead, transmission case, some steering linkage. It will also be changed to a CR Graphite ++, as another member coined their build.
Below pictures are pre-teardown. The truck has Lunsford titanium rods, but they are visibly used, and teh ball cup got a little ground down with a dremel. I have new items ordered. I will also be replacing the ball studs with new, shiny bits. The steering linkage is an area that should look much different once completed.
The front bulkhead was a little scuffed up, so I did my best to shine it up.
I hope to find a new XL Graphite chassis.

Re: Losi XXT CR Graphite Plus - Re-Rebuild
Damn that looks mighty fine already! Looking forward to seeing the progress here, should be easy with such a great truck to start with!
I do love the white wheels, I tried them on mine but it didn't work with my paint scheme, even though there is white on it.

Re: Losi XXT CR Graphite Plus - Re-Rebuild
Progress continues. Today I received the main reason for this XXT build - The beautiful A Main Hog Bones drives. I have been obsesses with these ever since seeing them on Shoman24v's XXT.
After much pestering and pleading, we agreed on a deal. These must be extremely rare, as I could not even find a picture of them online, let alone anyone selling them. I hope my build highlights them and does them justice.
The Hog Bones were in great condition, but I decided to give them a little polish. I broke down the driveline, and will be rebuilding it with new parts.
One of the pictures below shows a polished drive next to an unpolished drive. The picture does not do it justice. I person, they shine like crazy now, and I could not be more happy with them. Something about their shape just looks so right to me. They really were the main reason I wanted to build this XXT.
Other photos show cleaned/polished pieces next to originals.
