93 WCS from scratch build

Post by scoobyrs25 »

After examining a parts lot from ebay, I noticed it was mostly 94+ YZ10 parts. Looks like it will be fun to build a 93 WCS car using the bits I have mixed with some Fibre Lyte parts. I'm assuming I can use an 870c rear bulkhead with the shock tower mounts cut off. Any help sourcing the missing stuff would be greatly appreciated.

From what parts you've got there you will need

WCS chassis
WCS top deck
WCS rear tower
WCS rear comber link
WCS top deck posts (there not the same as the 94 ones)
Rear bulkhead with the sides cut off and machined down by 2MM (I think)
Rear tower suport

Then depending on what your doing for belts and if your going to run it you'll need either the WCS specific 2MM diffs and belts or you'll need specific length 3MM belts.
That's all I can think of off the top of my head, good luck :D

What diffs are you going to run? Plus you'll need a TCS and that works diff at the front won't fit you'll need a 94 pulley

I appear to have at least 10 different pulleys. Some are skinny, and one is even super fat. I have the fat rear belt to go with it. Is the TCS the same as in my Works 93?

A works 93 TCS will be 3MM pitch so if you are to run it you can use the 93 rear belt and pulley but the front you will need a 93 front pulley and 94 out drives and you'll need different thrust washers.
I'm still experimenting with main belt length the one I have i think needs another tooth or 2 but I'll see after I get chance to run it.
My thread on my WCS runner will be some help for you.

At first, I'm more worried about getting it rolling than absolutely exact. I'll post up pics in a new thread with my other Yokes. I have a Works 92 and 93, an 870c and this 94+ project. The 870c will be a modernized runner. Initially, I'm going to run the stock chassis and saddle Lipos. Eventually I'll have Bezzerk make a custom chassis for a lengthwise shorty. I'm hoping to figure out how to at least get close to the fast 4wd cars at my local track. should be fun.

Super fat pullies and belts might be for mx4 mr4bc models. They look similar to yz10 models but do not fit. Just a guess, as I had the same thing,, a pile of diffs and belts,, so had to play mix and match,, and found the mx4mr4 fitment.
