Armor All ? What do you use?
Armor All got a bad rap due to cracked dashboards in the 80's/90's, it didn't let the material breathe. Stay away from silicone based products. I use 303 Aerospace Protectant to protect tires, it has uv protection and resists cracking or dry rotting.
Soaking tires in simple green for a few minutes has always worked for me, the active ingredient is "oil of wintergreen"
I have been trying to figure out why people spend so much time cleaning their tires, then run 3-5 warm up laps. Wouldn't this take any possible advantage to having clean tires at the start of the race?

Ok I'm at my wits end with this and I would like any help. I missed the boat when they were making tires and rims for the RC10 a few years back. I know there are rims still being made by JConcepts but tires are the bane of my existence. I'm willing...

I did dye the wheels for the Houge before I painted them.
Totally forgot about that until just now
They took dye as well as any other nylon I have done.

Thanks Chuck, that’s good to know. I could order a few sets in white then dye...
I have seen a couple on here and we've discussed that they are rare. I have a handful and it's neat to see all the different tire treads. Just too bad some of mine are glued to old rims and fearful to remove them intact. I'd like to see what tires...

Thanks for the info Johnny. Yeah, I'm still in the military trying to stick it out for the long haul. Already past halfway but damn if these sensitive soldiers and politics are killing me! Hard to be an NCO when you can't cuss or even touch a...
Anyone use something like a case tumbler to clean parts? Like a small one used for bullet casings.
I was looking at the idea originally for cleaning up metal parts but also started wondering if it'd work on the plastic parts. I understand it could...

I used car wax on an anodized motor plate once and it left some discolored streaks on it. Go ahead and tell me I did it wrong........but I think it depends on the color of the anodizing and the base luster of the metal or the porosity of the...
So I picked up a Yokomo 870c (YZ10) from a guy in a mega bundle deal and am now getting around to breaking it down and cleaning up everything before I figure out what needs to be replaced. So far it looks like only some hardware needs replacing and...

After a few false starts (work and family stuff) I was turned on to getting a cheap gravity feed media blaster for $20 at Harbor Freight and using Baking Soda in it. My compressor is a 20 gallon and can go up to 125 PSI. The blaster has a operating...

our new house will have a dedicated hobby room, or i'm not moving. that's what i tell the wife anyway.
You can have your hobby room, as long as you share just one tiny little corner for her scrap booking.
