3rd owner rc10gt
My uncle bought this rc10gt new back in 1997 I believe it was. He ran it for a couple years and then gave it to his brother. He drove it for a couple years then put it away in storage. Last year he gave it back to his brother whom just gave it to me for Christmas.
Now I’m going to breathe new life into it. It will obviously need a full teardown, new bearings, rebuild the shocks including reinstallling the stock shocks. Needs a new body which I happen to have a nip Dahm’s Raminator got for a GT. It has aluminum rear arm mounts and rear bulkhead on it now. I’ll get some carbon fiber shock towers and see if the old O.S. Will run or not.

Re: 3rd owner rc10gt
Intitial inspection on the gt is not great, but not bad. The engine was stored for god knows how long without a flow plug in it and the sleeve is a fairly dark blue. All the bearings are shot. The chassis is hollowed out too much at the motor mount screws as the wrong screws were used. It does have a hitec hs-645mg Servo for the steering which works. (Gave it a quick test). It also has what appears to be Lunsford titanium turnbuckles on it as well.
So plan for this is to replace the chassis if I can find one cheap enough. Carbon fiber shock towers. Rebuild the os max 15cv in it. Replace the throttle Servo. Rebuild the stock team shocks or find a set of threaded T4 team shocks. All new hardware. A&L steering kit, new battery, wheels, tires, and body. New exhaust header and cvec pipe. Rebuild the diff and then find a flywheel, clutch kit, and a spur gear for it.
Shouldn’t cost too much to get this going again.

Oh yeah it definitely needs tlc. A lot of tlc.
It won’t take a lot of parts to restore it as everything is in pretty good shape.

Curious as well if this has made any progress?

I haven’t touched it yet. I’ve been working 70hrs per week.
I’m hoping to tear it apart soon to inspect everything.
I know for sure I need a spur gear, flywheel, clutch system, and clutch bell. Motor mount and possibly a new chassis.
