Hey All,
Just recently was given this vintage RC10. Appears to have a body conversion kit. It is running but esc is a little flaky going reverse. I never owned the RC10 back in the late 80's, early 90's when i was an avid rc'er but always wanted one. Mainly a Tamiya truck guy.(BLackfoot, monster beetle, hi lux monster racer, king cab). Picked up a couple tamiya Re-releases within the last couple years so this project is a score in my mind. I was hoping some people could help with some basic questions.
any info you can gather from the pictures would be appreciated.
model, year, etc
Is there a link for the users manual somewhere?
Is it easy to get parts for restorations?
How difficult would it be to go back to the stock buggy style body?
I always hear about stealth transmission. Would this have that?
Thanks in advance

Re: rc10 help needed
Hello and welcome to the forums.
It's difficult to see the tranny in your photos but it appears that your car is an earlier RC10 and likely has a 6-gear transmission.

It doesn't appear to be heavily modified so it won't be difficult to re-fit an original style body and wing.
Ebay, OldRC, etc. are your best sources for parts. AE has discontinued this car (both the original and the re-released version) so new parts are becoming scarce.
If you planning to run the car, you'll want to fit it with ball bearings - if it doesn't already have them.
Here's a copy of the manual

I have a car like yours that's close to original (6-gear, short arm, etc.) that I run in the backyard dirt track - lots of smiles.
