Outlaw Rampage pro (sport ver) NIB build

Post by alien3t »

When I went to my lhs back in November. one of the employees showed me this in the back. $75 was the mark down tag on it (new price tag on side said $219.99) been wanting to grab it just to build a new 20 year old kit, was open, made it through a store move (where all the old stuff was put in buckets). so finally went today and grabbed it. and yes I will build it, need to find a correct os 12 cz for it. but I don't plan to run it, paint will be my rc body colors. only upgrade plans in future would be bearings.

Done for now. Thinking ill add some truck foam to the tires. (no gluing) paint body in my colors and sticker up. need another Futaba 148 servo to match the steering 148 (take the Airtronics throttle out of it) need to find either a period correct enya, Kyosho motor. or a OS cz-r from 1992-1995. run linkage, fuel lines. and add an old receiver and battery holder and switch. then call it done. so far thinking its staying a shelfer. Say one just like this on ebay from Spain i think, he is asking $890. I think my $75 plus $30 for the 2 missing parts is worth a shelfer. ah yeah. will go back and add some bearings. If i can locate the threaded Kyosho rods in the right sizes. may change out.

I really like the way those trucks look. Kyosho has some cool box art vehicles that I would love to build

What year was this truck released? It looks like my first gas truck I had. Also, with the body on, kinda looks like a 10T

the Kyosho catalog is for 1994. i think this truck is around that time. 1994.

i mught do box art style. but my colors are yellow/white/black/blue by Parma. since it has the yellow side stripe. might do grey replaced with blue, red replaced by white. black stays black.

it was fun building. all parts fit nice. and when i bought it. the kid at the shop was all impressed or tripped out on how the trans was. when i saw it. same as a losi 6 gear.

Awesome build! Thanks for documenting with pictures your build progress. Im trying to build one from parts I can find. Looking for some detail on the engine mounting and engine choice. Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated!

I am still waiting for one to pop up on ebay for a decent price. Would like to do the stickboy electric conversion to the buggy version with the PRO-x body. aperently no one in europe is selling one, and the ones in US are like $300 whilst beaten.
