Since I’ve been putting off building my NIB kit for so long. I though I’d add this to the shelf. Super clean truck, couldn’t have been run much at all. I pulled all the decals because they were placed pretty random and they were dirty and lifting. Other than that the body is in decent shape and useable. I usually just toss the bodies that come with the trucks I buy.

This really doesn’t need much. Just going to add a little cosmetics and a couple hop-ups to beauty it up a touch. Also adjusted the shocks a touch to bring it back down to earth a little.

I do wonder why some survive so long without much use. That’s a pretty good theory though.

I have too many Dudgeons .It’s been many years and sorry if I’m wrong to whoever it was. But I’m pretty sure I have Phin to thank for scoring me a NIB LXT Dudgeon kit. One day I’ll stumble on a NIB LXT kit to put it together.

Hop-ups time. I bought this engine and manifold to stick in one of my GT’s but the crank case is so large it would’ve required stacking washers to raise the engine up. That seemed hack so I never did it. And besides it looks so much better with the blue chassis. Mega Duratrax job, engine mounts, exhaust manifold, pipe, coupler. These chassis are incredibly cheap compared to what people ask for a GT chassis.

Also.... classic case of should’ve stopped while I was ahead.

The manifold was pushing the body out quite a bit. I put a head gun on it and made it look decent. Then I kept going thinking I was going to form it tightly around the manifold and everything started shrinking


Oh well it is what it is. I ordered a set of repro decals. I’ll make sure I stick something over it to hide it

Wow...i dont recall seeing this back in the day from Kyosho....such a cool beauty...i guess my messing around with the nitro vette kept me occupied...

i would have definitely purchased this had i known it existed...

Here’s an article I saved a while ago from RCCA archives. Probably ineligible after I saved it to a folder and it got compressed.

And a Tower Hobbies ad for the truck.

This is the team model I recently added to the collection. To my knowledge the differences are full bearings, composite towers, and Teflon coated shock bodies.

Overall the truck is a little dirty but in incredibly good condition. Whenever I do find these trucks they are usually pretty well preserved. I don’t know if that’s any indication of how they drove. Or if that’s the only way they survived is by not being driven.

When I saw the pictures of my team model. The pictures weren’t great. I thought it had the optional header for this truck on it. Contemplating using the one I’ve been saving for my NIB kit.

Time to try and make this body look pretty. It’s a shame I melted the body so bad trying to shape it around the exhaust. I think I could’ve made this body pretty good looking. I just put some color on. Once it dries a little more I’ll start applying some stickers.

Thanks Alex, and you’re right. It’s not exactly box art. But it’s not too far off. What a very busy sticker layout this one was. By far the most I’ve done on one body. It takes away from the deformed side a little. I’m really happy the way the body turned out. I almost scrapped it when I bought it as that’s what I usually do when I buy used trucks.

I still have some plans with the chassis. That will be happening soon enough.

I like the more "cornerish" styling on the body. There were alot of bodies that looked like melting ice cream in those days.
