Replacement Stealth Slipper/Spur

Post by CNA75 »

Hello all. It's been quite some time since i've been on this forum but I'm delighted to be back - the reason being that my two little boys and me are enjoying racing some vibtage RC10 buggies between us.

However, the 6 gear on one of the CEs that we are using has seen better days and i have a good stealth ready to fit. But it doesn't have a spur or slipper. Does anyone know if there are current slipper/spur (48 dp) bits that i can fit to an original stealth tranny?

Thanks in advance!

Welcome back. The most common upgrade for this is to use a T4 top shaft (part #9601) with the modern slipper setup. This is also what was used on the modern RC10 re-release. Slipper pads are #9603, hubs #9604, and spring is #9605. It uses a standard 5-40 locknut to tighten it down. Several options for spur gear as well.
Current:RC10T, T3 FT, GT Blue Tub, GT FT, GT2 FT, GT5, RC28, SC28, Micro RS4.

Previous:B2, B3, B3 FT, 10T pink chassis, GT FT, TC3, TC3 FT, RS4MT
Tamiya TA02, Thunder Tiger TS4N pro, Kyosho VoneR, Emaxx, MX4, MP 7.5, 7.5 Kanai.

The challenge is that 9601s are like hen's teeth now. If they do turn up they are well over $40 shipped w tax etc, so it may be wiser to buy a complete used stealth which generally runs about $70

Many thanks for the helpful responses. Do you know where i may easily find a 48dp 81 tooth spur gear that would fit both the 6 gear and the stealth transmissions? Associated, Kimbrough or Robinson Racing perhaps?
Thanks.
