Losi JRX2 TOP Quality Slipper Clutch

Post by snowfox »

Hi,

I managed to find an old slipper clutch relic for a Junior T build i'm doing, looks like a cool design. Its made to work with the brass geared top shaft for the early JRx2, which brings about a couple of issues for me:

Is it possible to get the gears from the original top shaft?

How easy is it to source these early brass top shafts/gears, I'm based in the UK so finding JRx parts is hard enough!

Thanks for your help :)
Andy

Thanks dude, I just need to find one that ships to the UK :?

Was also thinking there may be a way to drill a whole through the steel, bloody tricky though

That's a nice little unit. Traxxas used a similar setup with the rulon pegs. Odds are they used a common diameter to fit the spur gears of the era. If you end up running this and need replacement pegs for the slipper
You might try part TRA 4685. I have seen them in both the brick red color and a newer formulation that is black in color. Some folks have noticed the older style red pegs seem to shrink in size over the years.

Best of luck in your search for your brass geared topshaft.
Hope you're doin' something fun.
