Hi, loving your Astute, just one question is your TTC a special build or box stock? I know it not box sock for the original Astute I just mean a stock TTC? Thank you.

Yeah they are a good transmission, I have one in my original shelf Super Astute and one in my runner “Works” Astute. The only reason for the question is I know some folk have swapped TTC out for stealths, I didn’t see the point. The only downside with the TTC for me is the .5 pitch spur.

turnbuckles are the Tamiya #9405814 set for Dyna Storm plus #9805760...
I sold a nib kit and never opened it. Now I have another one nib and opened it up to build and going over the manual what was tamiya thinking will all the bearings?

the way i think about it is the astute was the super astute's predecessor which was the predecessor to the dyna storm. each time they refined the chassis, (long front shock setup in the dyna storm and simpler hubs/arms arrangements in the super...
So I was looking at my projects and thought to myself, self, why haven't you built this Astute? ... So since I have a bit of time while I sort out some other projects I decided to do my clean up of my Astute..
Does anyone know if there are any readily available wheels that I can use to convert an Astute to a truck?

how about tamiya king cab/ monster racer, bush devil 1, blackfoot extreme or super, or non tamiya imex. factory works on ebay also has some 2.2 trucks wheels for the blackfoot it may fit astute.
