Was anyone into Mini Z's back in the day so to say? I remember racing all hours of the night many a night. We got pretty good to the point where one crash into the barrier would cost you the race. Anyone who has raced mod Mini Z on an RCP track knows just how "narrow" it is....... for 5 minutes
Of course Mini Z's have become much better since the original design and I think would have been tons better, by that stage I think the Mini Z craze had died down, which is a shame because they were great little cars.
Here's mine as it was..... good times and good memories.....
I got a used Porsche M03 Mini-Z from my LHS before it was gone. The steering was always screwed up and wouldn't always return to center. I just replaced the steering potentiometer and servo motor this weekend and it now drives like a dream. Man what a PITA to work on stuff that's so small. I had to break out my Opti-Visor to inspect my solder joints. My local track had plans to race them and we even set up a track. But for one reason or another, it just never took off. But the cars are fun! I also have a Rage RC Mini-Q and a pile of parts to build a Dynamite Rocket Racer for some competition.
I have a few. I'd get more, but the prices are usually kinda high. Our new basement is much bigger than the old one, so I'd like to set up a nice flat oval eventually. The mini Z's are just the right size. (and the Losi 1/24 vehicles we've got)
I don't know how many folks took advantage of the sale on the mini b race rollers but I did.
I'm starting this thread to put some information out there, and for others to add what they learn to it.
If you have thing to add please do.
The Mini B...

I find the mini tierod ends to be the source of sloppiness, Mine got so bad I used a tiny piece of paper over top of ball stud before pushing on rod end. it worked decent but wasnt a long term solution. Anybody have a source for decent mini rod ends?
Got a few runs under my belt with my new M-03 Mini.

I'll try a Robinson pinion and see if that'll shut it up some...
I've wanted to get another Mini Cooper for some time now. When I lived in Jersey City I would race my old M03 in the parking lots with a few friends and it was some of the most fun I've ever had with r/c. The little Minis are just a blast to drive....

Some folks were requesting some specs of my machines so I figured I would start with the lathe. It is a 7 x 12 Cummins tool lathe (same as Harbour Freight, Grizzly, Micro Mark, and several others). It is made in China and with most things, there is...
