Junior T -- Buggy conversion

What can you guys tell me about the Junior T & the process of maybe converting it into a buggy? I've got the chance of getting hold of one but would dearly love to own a Losi JRX of some type, they are hard to come by.

The easiest way is just smaller tires and buggy body. If you wanted to source a new transmission for proper gearing you could but depends how far you want to go

between junior 2 and junior T, the only real difference is the wheels and tires and body mounts. Also the buggy would have wing tubes.

so in other words, pretty easy to switch between them. the front truck body mount is the bumper and is a bit harder to find, but you are going the other way, the front bumper shouldn't be too bad to find, fab, or buy a printed one.

the hardest part would be to find true buggy wheels that are original. if you are looking at running it, you can get JCracing (UK) wheels that fit losi that are 2.2", look the part and fit modern tires.

the junior used a jrx2-pro body, I think? you can get a jrx2 body from sabulatech (along with other LOSI parts) which would fit, but not be 100% correct with the H arms. (it will still fit)

you could also dig up a whole 5-link rear suspension kit and could fit it on the chassis to be even closer to a jrx2.

in short, its worthwhile to get it if you are looking for a losi car.

Re the wheels, is it a case of the exact originals being rare, or just period Losi 1/10 buggy wheels in general being hard to find & nothing else compatible?

The originals are hard to find, but they are out there. They are 2.1" and 2.0" so tires are hard to find, only a small number of companies make new ones in that size now.

So moving to 2.2" is far easier and cheaper if you are not restoring an original.

Start perusing eBay for vintage losi parts to get a feel for what's out there.
