Ok, it does work, but the range is only about 25-30 feet. And sometimes, even within that it will pause, then start again turning full right.
Maby the battery just cant maintain voltage while in use. Ill put it on the shelf untill the ups guy brings me new ones.

But just to verify, I dug this old Futaba G plug receiver and servo out, and used an adapter to hook it up to the esc.
Its basically a 4 channel version of your receiver.
It actually operated smoother with the esc than it did on a 4-AA pack (just servo). I think my AA's might be about dead.
Always looking for new and interesting ways to waste money.
