I've been working on a podcast series for a while now - the early episodes picked up a lot of Australian R/C history, but now moving further afield. Recent episode featured Robin Schumacher and upcoming eps over next few weeks have some more international flavour. It's been great fun doing the research and chatting with R/C legends.
Search for 'Action R/C' wherever you find podcasts, or the link to the home page for the pod is https://anchor.fm/actionrc
Should be a new episode out in the next 24 hours which might be of particular interest to UK racers.
Today's episode is out - featuring Rory Cull. I loved chatting with Rory and exploring both his history and career, and what he's up to in R/C these days. Find Action R/C anywhere you listen to podcasts, or the episode homepage/link is:

The last of the last of the dogfighters... the ultimate YZ10, bought from an official guy bitd. And this one ran for the very last time at the 97 Worlds and then was stored in a box since then, so the dirt on it is actually genuine RPS dirt from 97...

'97 it can't be.
At the '97 Worlds warm-up in Pomona, the team drivers had modified YZ10's. The most obvious part was a very tall rear shock tower and a 2 parts top deck with a small shock absorber.
That modified YZ10 was not run at the actual...
For those of you not on FB, I'm going to be taping an episode of the RIP podcast tonight with Jason and Gotti Jr. If there are any questions you'd like to hear them ask, post them up here and I'll pass them along. Should be fun. :)

Good listen on there. I subscribed to the podcast on iTunes, and it's good sometimes. Too much plane talk, and obviously it's a shill for Horizon-owned products, but it kills some time at work.
Tadracket sent me this little bit of RC history. Enjoy

I've never seen 8th scale onroad in person but it looks completely badass...even from wayback when that video was made. I can only imagine how fast the new 8th scale onroad cars are. Too bad there are no onroad tracks anywhere near me.
Well, I swore I wouldn’t start a new off topic subject tonight, but here I am… I’ve written numerous emails to editors of various r/c mags over the past 5 years asking them to please write a definitive book about the origin/history of r/c. I mean...

I had a chance to dig out some boxes of goodies over at Barry Raborn's house last night. Barry was the owner of both Bullet and Raborn Racing products. I took a few pictures but they aren't the greatest since they are from a cell phone. Anyways,...

That truck is sitting at Barry's house now. It wouldn't do all that well on a touring track. The motor is offset left and up high. It is really intended to be only a dirt car. I have drastically updated it to bring it up to modern levels. Barry even...
