I though it was about time I showed you guys some stuff because I feel like I've been getting a lot and giving little back. I received this in the post today, it may not be very exiting to anyone else being a U.K. car but it's got me stoked and it's another one off my list. It is a never ran (never had a motor or batteries in), in fact not quite finished being built either Schumacher Pro-Cat from around 1988 I think, please correct me if I am wrong. The instruction (absolutely mint by the way) and box were already mine although it did come with a set of reasonable instructions. It needs some cleaning work on the metal parts and I will have to find an original wing mount from somewhere but I have a new body set for it and I will be finishing it in the scheme on the instructions. Any comments/advice gladly accepted, thanks. P.S. I have a number of other cars/project but again I'm not sure if they are of interest as most are standard box art to be Kyoshos or Tamiyas as I am waiting for the real prize RC10s to arrive.
Experience is that marvelous thing that enables you to recognize a mistake when you make it again.
stolen or not, it's a very nice find! I love the vintage schumacher cars, I've just won a Top Cat recently, but it hasn't showed up yet... I'll keep you posted

yep, that Top Cat was amazing beck then, remember when it appeared on the first World's races? It was a blow-off... Actually, it was my second serious runner as a kid (fisrt one was a stock Ultima with red shocks, oh myyyy) and bought it in a LHS in central London, if I had had tools, I would have build it in the street

Nice. I think the ProCats were around 1990 or so. I raced a Cat XL in 87/88 and got out of off road around 89 and the ProCat wasn't out here.
I have been trying for many years to acquire an original short wheelbase Cat or XL like my first 4wd car. No luck. They are not easy to find in the US, for sure. Mine had a TRC graphite chassis and top deck, as well as Trinity diff & top shaft. The body was Dahms, that I ran on both my Cat and RC10 at the time. Eventually, the car got Kyosho Gold shocks all the way around, too.
This is the non-rc 10 vintage section so shumies are very wellcome!
I loved those cats from the moment I laid eye on them.
Man , did I ever regret getting that boomerang as a first car, this cat or an optima would have been so much cooler...
I have NIB one and offered it for trade against a cougar works or so - but nobody was interested:) But finally i got CATS' cougar 2 runner, i think i will sell my topcat runner and build the NIB one

Hi Assoman - do you have any pics of pro drivers paint schemes of the topcat or cougar?
Although as you said you would like comments or advice, my advic would be to not paint it as per the pic on the instructions.
I never liked that scheme.
i know that this is old news but just want to share.
over the past 3 weeks, i've been googling on how to convert my Old KO- EX-II to 2.4 GHZ, and manage to give it a yank last night when my FRsky 2.4GHZ DIY kit arrive from Hobby...

Last time I talked to Cliff Lett, he said they threw out several old molds because no one showed any interest in them.

I'd be running 2s, at least at first. Thanks for the feedback.
Summer is winding down, other distractions are coming to an end and I'm finally ready to start working on rc cars again. This seems to happen to me every year! I've got several projects lined up already. I'll post appropriate threads as I begin work...
