Re: Demon MF-1 / MF-83 1/12th Car
Most of those parts aren't old chassis, the markings show they are the original templates used to cut and drill the chassis parts.
I'm in the same position, I have front and rear end parts somewhere but spares never come up for sale anywhere. If I ever get around to digging them out the easy bit was going to be drawing up and cutting my own chassis for it, at least I now know where I can get a template to copy now.
The early cars were very flexible, carpet wasn't universally used we were still experimenting with tyres and additives in the early years. As grip became easier to generate Nick developed the car over time. You will notice all the updates made the car stiffer and stiffer with less holes in the chassis and the bugger top plates, and he went to twin rear shocks to get some roll damping. The team was constantly developing the cars, there was a time when I don't think it stayed the same between each national.
I wonder what happened to Nicks old stuff, I'm sure there's loads of us who would have loved to go through all the parts and cars.

Re: Demon MF-1 / MF-83 1/12th Car
I am in touch with his daughter and we chat occasionally - yesterday in fact. I have pictures of all of his old race gear and extensive stash of spare parts. His old kit boxes still exist with several complete cars, bodyshells etc….
She is hanging on to it as a tribute to her father although has agreed to send me the axles for this car so I can finish it.
I am still looking for a second shock absorber for exactly the reason you outlined above - I only have one at the moment. All three cars in Nick’s kit box were set up this way.

Good to know, a lot of these pieces of RC history end up being sold off or thrown away. Of course there's plenty of us who would volunteer if she ever wants them restoring.
