Is there a way to adopt a b4 style top shaft to a 64 pitch for use with a thorp 64pitch gear set? Were the top shafts and idlers for the thorp 64pitch gt and rc10 stealth the same across kits?

It may be possible to press the gears off and swap them. I'm honestly not 100% sure though.
Are there any threads here on that? Would I just try and torch and hammer off the gear of a associated steel b4 top shaft? Are there any 'blank' b4 shafts?
i have the b4 top shaft for my stadium truck now my son wants to get the other truck i have going instead of switching tranies does the b4 topshaft fit the stock 10t tranny or just the stealth.
i wonder how hard it would be to mount the b4 tranny it...

i do have a stealth but i also have 2- 6 gears as well.
i switched the topshaft and the slipper and spur worked great.
with brushless my son cruised it around the track the other day.
Have been out of the hobby for about 18 years just now getting back into it.
Looking to swap the top tranny shaft in a B4.2 with a B3 top shaft. Can this be done?
If this can be done I will buy a B4.2
Thanks for any help.

I did it the other way round so I could run a B3 with a B4 slipper for a brushless setup. It was a straight swap so I can't see why you couldn't do it the other way.....
Hello all. I've been doing some casual club racing with my old T3 just to get some extra wheel time. Anyway, I want to put the T4/B4 slipper/top shaft on it.
I've heard you have to shim up the topshaft to make this work.
For those that have done...

The manuals are on AE's website. Same about of shimming as stock.
I put a MIP top shaft and dual slipper on my T2 without issue.
Can anyone ID this top shaft in the B3 I'm building? It's aluminum, and there's a stud that threads in for the slipper hardware. I can't seem to find anything online. Thanks in advance.

Yeah, I've got the manual.
I don't know if I need to change it. It was assembled when I got it, so I'm just going to slap it back together. I was curious if anybody knew what that top shaft was, and if I possibly needed different spacers to shim...
After some help to save my sanity. I found this Steel topshaft at home and cant work out what its for, The best guess i have is that its an aftermarket B4 top shaft ??? As its the same length also. However, it has a thicker shoulder up to the gear...

Ignore me, sussed it now....... :)
Wait what was it?
Probably something to do with the machined spacer instead of a bearing surface
Fan RC is reproducing them but they appear to be out of stock everywhere.
I know Avid makes a version but it's aluminum and I'd prefer a steel shaft and gear.
Anyone else making these?
I recently stripped apart an old stealth out of my junk box and it had a really nice ti top shaft in it! I was curious who made them back in the day, and if they are still available? It came out of a trans that was in an old dirt oval car so maybe...

the plastic idler with metal top gear and diff gear would be the most efficient, strongest and maintanence free. if you decide for all metal you need some good lubrication that stays on the gears.
ok im sorry if this has been answered but i cant find it
but what size bearing is needed for the long side of a b4 top shaft
3/8 x ?
i know that the gear side is 3/8 x 3/16
but the long side is thicker
im trying to get this in my MIP change box...

Not sure on the mip, but using the B4 topshaft in the 2.25, you don't use the spacer. Same bearing size on both sides.
