Hi Coelacanth

I totally agree with no acetone and your preparation details.
Using proper lexan paint is important as well.

I believe products such as Fascolor, Createx Airbrush Colors and Wicked Colors, Proline, Mission Models, Lexan Paints, Badger RC Air, etc. are broadly defined as water based acrylic paints.

I should have been more specific and I am not recommending some acrylic paints sold by Hobby Lobby, JoAnn fabrics or heavy bodied acrylics for art work. Probably stick close to the name brands, like the above.
In the same vein, spray bomb and liquid polycarbonate paints that warn of Toxicity, Dangerous fumes, Flammable Liquids, Aspiration Hazard and Acute Toxicity are often broadly called enamel based formulas.
