Cougar 2000 & Fireblade Questions
Hi all,
I recently lucked into a nice (I think...) lot of Schumacher buggies. First is Cougar 2000 parts with an unpainted body and underpan. Second is what looks to be a complete Fireblade. I'll attach a few pictures. Can anyone tell me if it looks like I have enough parts to complete the Cougar? Are there any known modern rear hub/wheels assemblies that would allow me to use B4 rear wheels? Is there anything else I should know about these 2 buggies? I've always thought Schumacher cars looked awesome but I've never had one until now. I'll be getting them in a couple of weeks so I'll post more pics then. Thanks in advance!

Re: Cougar 2000 & Fireblade Questions
Nice score! You do indeed have the first Cougar2000 in spares there. I have a heap of both new in packet and used spares for these cars. I have all three versions of the Cougar2000 series and they drive brilliantly. I have spares if you need anything and I may be interested in one of your slipper plate sets if you want to do a trade. Also the rear rims for these cars are still widely available ,I havent tried geting B4 rims on one of these cars though. Getting the clear body is a real bonus. Cheers-Jason

WHAT?
I missed out on old school Schumacher to a fellow Canadian?
just kidding, nice find !
My Fireblade has B4 rear wheels running on it, and although I did not convert it myself, it looks like you fit the axles from the B4, and then get 4 ballraces to fit the stock hubs but the correct size for the B4 axle.
I'll do some pics if you need them.
The front can be done for either Losi or B4 stuff.
there's good info here : http://www.oople.com/forums/showthread.php?t=12406
as for the Cougar 2000, not sure exactly what's missing, but post here when you get a chance to go through it and ask for what's missing, there are a few collectors on here who will no doubt sort you out !

Re: Cougar 2000 & Fireblade Questions
Wow more memories!!! They're ok, but you need to be a bit of a tech head to set them up and get the most out of both Fireblade and Cougar. You'll find 60-70% of the parts are likely interchangable between the two cars
Diffs drive shafts and hubs especially
Enjoy

Enjoy

Re: Cougar 2000 & Fireblade Questions
I would be tempted to run the cougar with the Fireblade wishbones to increase it's track and stick with the more modern steering assembly from the Fireblade. Unless you want a standard car of course

Re: Cougar 2000 & Fireblade Questions
Quick update: the cars arrived today and I'm going to start going through the Fireblade first since it's the most complete. The Cougar is going to soak in some simple green
I'll post some pics once they're both cleaned up and together. I'll be looking for some parts for sure, spares for both and some parts needed to complete the Cougar. I'll try to get a list together and then I'll post it in the BST. Thanks for the input everyone, I'm pretty excited about finally having a couple of cool Schuies!

Re: Cougar 2000 & Fireblade Questions
Hey Jason,
You wouldn't happen to have a Fireblade manual kicking around would you? I've only got the exploded diagram sheet. If you or anyone else has an electronic copy or hard copy of it I'd be interested. Thanks!

Re: Cougar 2000 & Fireblade Questions
stulec: Do you think you could snap a few pics of the B4 wheels on the rear of your buggy? Maybe a complete assembly pic and one of it apart if possible...? Many thanks my fellow Canadian

Re: Cougar 2000 & Fireblade Questions
the whole drive train is currently in for cleaning.... long story !
but, pm me your e-Mail, and I'll do some pics for you.
I forgot to say, I had asked Heavyd99 ( I think Darra is his name) about these cars a while back, I only wanted the Cougar 2000, but he wouldn't split.... but if you ever want to sell it, let me know !
