RC10, long time wanting, first time owning

Post by Rizzo »

G'day Guys,
I just found this website today & I just got my first RC10 yesterday! Fantastic timing! I've always wanted one but have only ever had a Tamiya.
Recently we had a vintage meet here in Sydney, where I had my very first introduction to RC racing. The most impressive car for me was an immaculate gold & black RC10 owned by Bugle. It was awesome on & off the track, plus he knew how to drive as well.
I knew then I had to have one. This what I got, I have no idea what year it is, what model in the link of RC10 history so please don't hesitate to fill me in. It doesn't look like it has been used much at all. it's complete with box, motor, speed controller, NIP body, wing & driver. Countless different types of springs, pinion gears, bearings, MIP cvd 1/4 axle, MIP ball bearing steering setup, idler gears, spur gears, manuals etc.
I'm pretty wrapped. Is this a good example or are there better models?
Any advice will be most welcome.
regards
Jak

Well done Jack,I see you made it over here with the rest of us Aussies- :D Yeah the vintage meet was cool wasnt it and seeing you run that Brat around with the bike strapped into the back was way cool buddy.
You have the 6 gear gold pan that most people would drool over. Well done! Cheers-Jason.

Hey Jak good to see you found a nice RC10! Looks like you've got everything you need to get racing. Make sure that transmission has ball bearings though. You could convert to a Stealth trans which is a bit better but the 6-gear isn't too bad with ball bearings.

for a wild bet you sure got lucky.
Not that I really know a lot on the rc10, but this one definitely has a pretty and well -painted body sitting on it.
Stealth, yeah, go that way if you can: the slipper on it really helps the performance and endurance.
Welcome!

Very nice RC10! I would be proud to own that one.Welcome to these boards, I'm pretty new myself so nice to meet ya. Is that a Kyosho motor in it? Best of both worlds if it is, have fun with it.

welcome to the board.

your buggy looks to be an early championship edition with the 6gear trans. and it is in very good shape besides the hackjob in the pan for the battery wire to come out... an easy fix for that would be to seiben-slam the sides of the tub...

Thats a great idea Thomas, I'm sure James will be up for it too.

I don't suppose u would have some nice (non dish type) 2.2 inch wheels for the RC10?

The motor is a KYosho mega motor, 18x2 turn. Probably far too powerful for me, I think that I will just put a Tamiya sport tuned in it to race. Don't want to get too ahead of myself

Im getting married here on the 6th September then off to Fiji for a 10 day honeymoon. When we return I will be looking to head back to QLD. All our stuff goes into storage this weekend coming and we are moving back over to Green Point with the in laws for a bit. Definately keen for some beach running. I have my Kyosho Turbo Scorpion/Beetle here- Im thinking of going down to St Ives today for a run.
