I've finally got around to looking for a mid '80's RC10 buggy and have found one locally going at a good price.
Can someone date this sucker?
My economic forecast for 2009 looks bleak if I win this buggy:shock:
Dig that funky CRP bumper...That'll fly into the trash before you could blink.
Decent lookin' Tekin ESC and a mondo outdated charger.
All for US$50.
I would say between 1985-86 and 1990 as it is not an early Edinger car (no double servo saver...).
Front and rear tires are not original, front rims are from a CE and rears from a TQ10 or Graphite.
Parma or at least aftermarket gear cover and black ball cups are not original either.

Yeah, could be a Proline bumper,I was just guessing it was a CRP-Either way it's going into the trash.
Every unorigonal part will be replaced with correct parts, fear not.
Thanks for the help,I can't beleive it's taken all this time for me to score an origonal RC10...I first started lusting after one in 1989!
it might be a picky rc10, so it might not date just anyone. i'd start by sending it some flowers or candies. maybe if your lucky, it'll let you take it out for dinner and a movie.

look like a early 10 with ce front rims and graphite rear rims loose the black ball cups . you have a great chassis to star with i noticed a drilled hole thats not correct.

Then you must be a little disappointed that you didn't actually win the auction on Trademe.co.nz..I see you're in Auckland, the winner was in Christchurch and as you no doubt know it went for $180.00 a tad more than the $50 you were paying for it..tiz a small World..

I had one like that around 88-89 NIB ,it had the larger wheels other than that it looked the same as the A stamp with the OG 1.7 wheels ,I bought the RC10T with the stealth tranny not long after 90? 91? and it had both the skinny and wide front tires and rims.
Okay so I just purchased a Castle SV2 sidewinder and 4 pole 4600KV motor, will be getting a new 2.4 radio, lipo and charger in the near future. Any recomendations on what pinion gear to use? I believe it came with an 81t spur, should I be changing...
Hi All,
Just like to share some modifications I've been making on my re release boomerang i bought a few years back.
I grabbed this off a bloke a year or so after the 2017 re release. He had partially assembled but not finished the chassis, But kids...

Had to do something with that battery space, so I made some side plates from 2mm Carbon and used the factory holes to fit some plastic servo mounts to hold them home.
Keep the dirt out. And kept my Carbon tube retaining screw I mentioned earlier...
Let me guess, take it slow and start as friends... seriously though. I have one that I got in a trade, but I'm not sure if it's vintage or re-release. I don't care, just curious. Or, for that matter, did they ever stop making them so that...

I ran it at first, then put it on the shelf for a looong time. I couldn't stand it any longer this past summer and got a body to run it with.
That's pretty bright...... like your personality......
Just thought I will fix up my JRX2 since my RC10 Graphite is all finished & going well.
I have done a fair bit of work to this JRX2 already & was only side lined due to a spring cup breaking off. This was over 6 months ago and thanks to Mr Horse...

Great looking car. I love the black and yellow scheme. I can't wait to hear how it does against the new stuff.
I've got a futaba magnum junior, and I'm wondering how old it is. I googled a bit and have come across a few people saying the first two digits of the serial number indicate mfg date.
This doesn't make sense to me, since I think this particual...

If memory serves, the Magnum Junior came out around 1984 or maybe sl. earlier even. I got one christmas of 1984 that looks like this
I have one of these (silver wheel) too from '84-85 and I thought it was the newer version of the first posted pic....
