Range of an FM radio?

Post by THEYTOOKMYTHUMB »

Does anyone know roughly the range of a 75mhz FM radio(an M8 to be exact)? I've never had any problems, but I'm curious. I know the surroundings can make a difference, but let's just say under average conditions.

I let mine get way out, but get nervous and always turn it around earlier than I want to. I think I'm just paranoid(had to refer to my Black Sabbath CD for spelling  ). I figure it is further than sight, but never can get a definitive answer. :?

Hey thumber,
I have had a few JR fms but have no problems with range and I get them out there so far that I can't see what its doing. I've actually had to just stop and keep turning slowly til I seen it was 'crossing' my view and then turn towards me to figure out where they are heading. That was in an open field with my savage then wideopened it all the way back til I hit the dirt pile/ramp...but thats another story  .
