Index those screws - maybe that is why it takes me forever to complete a build. You should see me putting ball caps on turnbuckles.........................
wow, all the phillips heads screws are lined up! you do have too much time
i just noticed that..thats a real show car thing..i know a gut that pays someone to line up the Bs on his bf goodrich with the valve stems on his show car...very nice work..
That is one great looking 10 you have there. I did not know associated had a powder coated chassis . Im working on a tekin project using a nib CE kit for the biuld . Maybe I will have the CE chassis powder coated. Also I like those tires are they still beening produced ? Some one noticed on one of my posts that the same plug was missing so I'm going to used your idea
I am not sure if Pro-Line still makes these tires, they are called Striker's.
If you are going to powder coat one please use an old chassis, not a NIB one
Thanks again for the kind words!!!
I am not certain about proline but I think they do. I know for sure that duratrax makes some that are called street trac or something looks alot alike.
Nice truck itll be well worth it when it is all done.
That Chasis looks incredible. Where did you get the powdercoating done? Is this something that you sent away for, or is there a local company that you utilize??

it's factory. associated had a couple different colors.
Sweet build. Where do you locate one of those carbon tranny braces ?
The CF trans brace is an AE part - came on the RC10 World's Car and on some of the RC10T's.
This brace was modified by the previous owner (a couple extra holes) so I thought it would be ok for this "no rules" build.
Can anyone put a finger on when the Associated Powder Coated Chassis were released, I recently acquired one and would like to rebuild it, but im not sure what period correct parts to use, thank you for the help.
Has anyone done World's style milling on a powder coated chassis? A buddy of mine asked if I would mill his but we are afraid the powder coating may get messed up at the sides of the milled areas? Anyone have any experience with this?

Thanks. I'll try to talk him into doing a build thread on here ;-)
I have read a few different opinions on various boards about RC10 powder coated chassis. The question I have is that I know 100% that the chassis and nose plates were available in a variety of colors but what about the motor plates? I have heard...

Need your help guys,
Anybody know what RAL numbers the powdercoat have on the old Associated chassis.
Could it be RAL 3024 or 3026 on the fluorescent red?
Any guesses on the other colors?
so i scooped this from treehugger in the BST thinking i'll build it then flip it to make funds for better parts for the cars i already own. i grabbed a lot of diff ultima parts in a recent ebay purchase. the dude had a jg oval chassis set up going...

I remeber we used to do similar things to kyosho arms bitd to make them a little more flexible so the car got easier to drive on rough tracks.
Well I decided to powder coat another chasis, I took the worst of the two I had and this is how it looks. This one is going to be the runner and Im not sure if Im going to do white parts or black, believe it or not I have mostly white thanks to a...

I've decided to give powder coating a shot. I bought a powder coating gun last week, but I'm too nervous to try it on some chassis I already own, so I picked up this Ultima as a guinea pig. This Ultima is pretty rough. I plan on removing the silver...

For that chassis it might work ok but wouldn't want to try that out with a gold pan. Takes quite awhile to get one of those clean and you'll go thru alot of refilling that little tank. Plus you would need heavy rubber gloves and some kind of...
I pick this up a few years ago was on the back burner. The shocks were all powder coated 24k gold. The rear wing was missing the top pieces.
I got another $17 CF 200x300mm, 2mm from China coming, probably will do custom chassis,Top Plate, Motor...

Thanks Guys, I think 2mm is about right for 1/10 scale especially if a double decker design. The HPI I did is very stiff. 2.5mm~3mm is good for 1/8 scale. My 1/8 scale inferno blue chassis upgrade is only 2.5mm from 2mm stock.
