When I was a young racer I would build carpet and dirt oval cars all the time. I recently revisited the good ol' days and built a few. The EDM car has a Kipps body, Speedy's shock towers, RPM ball bearing steering and rear body mount! It is the exact specs as the last carpet EDM car I built some 15 years ago!
The second car started as a Team car I bought of eBay, and it was in very nice shape. I bought a Speedy's Bomber kit and went to town!!! It has a Futaba Magnum PCM Radio, a Novak 410-M5 ESC, and a Tony Nesinger 14 turn Modified motor, that was brand new in the package!! Enjoy!

I bought a few sets from Speedy's!! Went to Trains and Lanes in PA to dig through the boxes of old tires and scorred the TRC fronts!!! Even got a set for a JRX2!
ya, last time i looked through their tires i saw 1 or 2 pairs of old trc foams. they've been picked pretty clean in the "old school tire" department. even the pancar stuff. for how huge carpet racing was at that place, not much of that stuff left either.
They had a set of green rc10 fronts and one set of green jrx2 fronts. No rears anywhere! They use to have a ton of old losi parts but, didn't see any of that stuff either. I use to race there on occasion in the EDM class up stairs. It was so much fun! I wish there was a Vintage Oval Nationals!!!
the upstairs oval has been gone for a couple years. they installed batting cages.
they did put a small road course layout on the remaining area that wasn't covered. but, they only run the 1/16-1/18 scale up there. i guess their getting ready to layout the new offroad track. it's gonna be on the opposite side of the building, far away from the asphalt oval. between the water/mud runoff from the offroad track, and morons cleaning their muddy shoes/boots and muddy car/truck tires off on it, that asphalt track is always a freaking mess.
i guess their first outdoor race is today on the oval. i might see if my wife wants to go for a ride a little later.
My starting point is this composite craft oval chassis with a mcallister oval kit as you can see the problem is all the pink. I have a Dahms devistator body trc foams and a Andy's rear oval mount. Anyone know if they made the front oval bumper in...

Iv got an oval project started even some picks to post. wheres a good place to start a section on the build.
If it's RC10 based start a new topic in this section..love to see what you've got..
I got this car from my brother for my birthday. I've always been a fan of rc10's and I'm really excited to finally own one. I plan on racing this car in the 17.5 edm class at a couple oval events this year.
Long time I didn't acquire a proper RC10 (the Chinese re-re display toys don't count) and this one is one of a kind. Reggie just grabbed it for me as the seller wouldn't ship overseas. I'm not an oval guy in general as this discipline never took off...

Looks great David 8) The MRP rears that were on it were very very popular @ RCHR where that car was run- and the AE late model would look stellar on it! Rear body mount in-route too
Rear body mount arrived thanks again Reg! The rear MRP were shot...
Here is my RC10. I picked it up from a hobby store about a year ago for $20. I just took it off the shelf about I month ago and decided to run it instead of my T4.
We race at a couple different tracks. During the summer we run on an...
I love mixing rc10 parts and making my own rc10s. (like my 15 inch wide rc10 . a trip to my old dirt oval rc track got me thinking of the offset oval rc10 i always wanted to build . so i said what the heck get the parts bin out and do a mock up/...

I personally don't like different length arms. The change on roll center is vastly different for each side of the car. It is for a camber link change too though but a longer arm has less angular change through travel as a short arm does. The means...
