and now for something copletely different: KX-one
RCCA did an announcement on it or a single article , and then... it disappeared in oblivion
well, that's my version at least. does anybody know more a bout his illustre tourer?
If you never heard of it, here's a little info

I remember this. The layout reminded me of an old optima.

I always thought that would have been a great idea-base for a new 4wd with the batteries down the middle. Must've been wrong......

Re: and now for something copletely different: KX-one
There have been 2 later touring cars by other brands with the same battery layout: one obscure brand I forgot and hpi (rs4- pro3?)
It would make a nice base for a 4 wd buggy
lazer suspension should fit right on. But finding a long enough belt and extend the wheelbase...
Little chance it will ever happen. Only ever saw a spare part mentioned once on a site.

Making a 4wd off-road buggy would be a cool project. And, yes, finding parts would be tough. Although, Kyosho USA had a garage sale last year and I swear I saw some for sale at a discounted price. Maybe a quick e-mail will turn up a deal?

but there are a few problems need to be solved before making it a buggy...........really a big big project......
- tailor-make the shock towers
- extend the wheel base (longer chassis plates & belt)
- spur gear cover & belt cover

Re: and now for something copletely different: KX-one
Thanks guys,
it's just one of those ideas for maybe some day, or not.
today I'm basically just looking at the car design with interest because it is quite different but competitive looking.
Pretty much along the lines of a buggy design I have been wanting to do for a while.
Striking how little info can be found on this car
EDIT: scrap that: I seem to have learned a lot about searching the web since last time I ttried finding info on this car. dogpile.com kx-one , enter, and pouf about 10 relevantlinks, with links inside them. Returning to read them now

Re: and now for something copletely different: KX-one
yep that's a couple dogpile turned up too
a GP kx-one must be a misstake though; the GasPowered version was called VX-one and had very little if anything in common

Re: and now for something copletely different: KX-one

Re: and now for something copletely different: KX-one

Re: and now for something copletely different: KX-one
Very nice, where did you find these pictures?
Nice to see how the battery configuration got altered too.
I've also seen one tourer which had the stickpack slightly shifted to one side and all ectronics on the other.

Very nice. Looks similar to an Optima Mid/Lazer. I think it's cool.

Re: and now for something copletely different: KX-one
at least one of them has the lazer suspension; quiet logical as they should be a direct fit and allow the use of standard issue universals etc.
Exactly how I would do it too
