Sheesh.... its only been 4 months , its taken me longer to decide on a car. I will reserve my judgement in 4 years with my vote , until then I am proud to have him as President .

Melvin-I agree I should have worded it differently. I don't think Bush went after anything right at all. I would gladly have voted for someone else if it wsn't kerry&edwards 4 years ago. I do think invading iraq was not the right course of action at all. I do believe that it was all about $$$. I think his response to 9-11 was good. The first 30 days anyway. I agree to go after the taliban the way we did. But then just to hitail it over somewhere else for no apparent reason was stupid and ignorant.

Now Obama. I would vote for obama in a different time. I think the mess that Bush left is just way to significant for someone as inexperienced. I think he can do some amazing things in our country but I hope that he has enough advisers to help him make such big decisions that are at hand. I think that some of the people he has put in office or wanted to put in office are not the greatest. But that is something that every president does. I think that obama will be a good president I just think that Mccain would have been better for this term.

And Shrub had experience? He had good advisers? Don't even get me started on McVain! That would just be a continuation of the Shrub agenda! On a positive note, at least we wouldn't have to listen to asswads like Limbaugh, O'Reily, and Ann Coulter run their pie holes off about things their puny brains know nothing about.

I think Mccain would have been different. He went against bush several times once he knew what they were doing was wrong. I hope Obama can do something really good but I won't keep my hopes very high.

I think as far as experience goes. Obama has done good things in his state before running for president but I feel that a few more years in congress or the house or even longer as a senator or something would be very good. Then I have no problem voting for him. I just look at how he said in his campaign that our soldiers would be coming home very soon after he was elected, but now it's going to be awhile. He must now understand that there is more happening behind the scenes than what we all know.

To be totally honest, I wish Mccain would have got the nod in 2000. I was so disappointed when W became the republican choice. Back then I liked Mccain and thought W was a silver spooned moron, and I still do. I think since then Mccain has given in way too much to the hard right, I'd go as far to say he lost his spine. He definitely would have been different from Obama, but who knows where we would be at today. One thing is for sure, he'd be playing mop up just like Obama, and I really don't think we could be doing much better no matter who was in charge. At least it appears that the worst economic days are starting to get behind us, so there is a little hope (slight pun intended )


Didier you're right, that is the most important thing. I think it's great also that he went to the concentration camp and had some things to say. I don't understand how people can have such venom for someone who has been in office for four months, especially considering the state the country was (is) in when he took office, nearly destroyed by the last guy.

I agree. I am impressed and proud of the fact that Obama is trying so hard to make peace with everyone else.

What bothers me is that Obama had votes by dumb kids that didn't vote for the person they wanted in office they just voted for the popular choice. My niece and her girlfriends all voted for Obama because he is popular. They had no idea what he stood for other than peace. I kept hearing thins everywhere I went. I just wished the media and all the celebrities could stay out of politics and stop making everything so lopsided by popularity.

I hope that if he continues the way he has been going that we can get countries back on our side. Everyone can't think that all americans are dumbasses just because bush was.

But every election that has ever been, has been full of this kind of vote. What about party liners who will ONLY vote for their party, regardless of how qualified or unqualified that candidate is? Is that any better than the popular choice? There will always be the sheep who will vote for whomever they're told to vote for.

We do tend to focus on our mistakes, granted that is the strength of our relatively open system. It sometimes seems what good we have accomplished over the years despite our shortcomings is not frequently recognized to the degree that I would suggest is fair. Either at home or abroad.
