a great evenement !!!!
No kidding! If there was ever a poster child for a destroyer of a country, Mr. Shrub would be it!Eau Rouge wrote:And the last 8 years didn't make you ashamed to be an American?

Some like him, some don't. No matter. Enjoy the day and have a beer on me. You are correct. Regardless of today's political forecast it was a great day for Europe. I normally don't get involved in political talk on the net whether it be Associated/Losi or Republican/Democrat, but enjoy! Of course, it's the next day now. Even here!didou60110 wrote:i thought american citizens were proud to have a new president as obama. your reaction is far what we can see on tv and read on newspapers.
the most important today is to celebrate the liberation of europe and specially france. I happy to live in a free country and thanks to american, canadian, english and french soldiers (and perhaps many others) who came and fight nazis on normandy beaches 65 years ago.
Politics and religion definitely tends to bring out the worst in people. There can be no wrong or right answer.RichieRich wrote:Yeah, I don't get involved in political discussions either. Really? Apologizing makes you ashamed? How about invading countries based on lies and then killing hundreds of thousands of that countries civilians? Did that make you ashamed? I know it did me. What about torturing people? How did we go from having the entire world standing by our side on 9/12/01 to being hated by most of the world by the time Bush left office?reign79 wrote:Yes please keep him and all his apologizing he makes me ashamed to be american like we should all be or something
I'm tired of hearing the word socialist when it comes to Obama. Only people who have no idea what socialism is would say that. All you have to do is talk to someone who's actually lived in a socialist country. If you're going to use labels, learn what they mean first.RedScampi wrote:Obama is an embarrassment. He thinks he speaks for all the downtrodden masses but he is turning this country into a socialist state.
Gotta disagree with this one too. To say that Bush F'ed-up after 9/11 would be the understatement of my lifetime. The course of action that should have been taken was clear as day. So, we're attacked by group A. I have idea, let's pull troops away from wiping group A off the face of the Earth to invade country B, who has done absolutely nothing to us and is no threat to anyone. I never served in the armed forces, but I do have an idea of what goes on in the world. The Taliban is running wild all over Pakistan, which is a nuclear state who's government could be overthrown at any moment. I hope you feel safe, because I don't.[email protected] wrote: Bush was a joke I won't defend him at all but I will say that he couldn't have done right or wrong when 9-11 happened. From then on any president would've had a very bumpy road.
Personally I believe that in order to serve as the president, you must have served in the armed forces. That way you have some understanding of what goes on. Just my $.02
