For you other Florida racers, Ruffy and I will be at the Asylum Sunday doing some testing. With the Spring Fling a couple months away and a **NEW** built RC10 on the line for the winner, now's the time to get ready! Also, I may be testing one of 2 new belt drive Pro Radiants Sunday. Come check it out in person before it's revealed to the rest of the world.

Thanks Ruffy, I ordered gold barcodes for the front and green double dees for the rear. My rc10 should be ready for the race on the 15th, is the entry really $25? That's crazy business. I'll also see you guys out at the track Sunday with my modern stadium truck racer. Looking forward to seeing some "new" vintage creations on the track.

Come to SoCal, most club races are $20 to enter. Bigger races just go up from there.

I would love to see a belt drive radiant...that has to be my #1 want for a vintage 4wd car (any pro radiant that is) .

The entry fee is $25 for the electric series. I know Ken is going to go big with the prizes at the end so there will be some return on the investment. No acrylic plaque for your entry fees!

The first of 2 (Pro Radiants) is pretty much done. I have some tweaking to do, but it could be run as it sits now. The second one will use a little different drive system so that one will be a little bit longer until completion. The purists among us will be screaming, but it isn't a restoration!

Looks like I will be at the RC Asylum for the start of their latest racing series afterall, as we just found out today that our business trip to CA was canceled. Congress is re-visiting the program outline and costs; taking a look to see if it will continue to be funded or not for the Marine Corp.

So bad news is no California trip for me right now; good news (cup half full mentality) is that I will be here for the start of the RC Asylum series and also I will not have to leave my lovely wife alone with our two adopted stray cats for a week.

Happy for your wife & cats, sad for me :( .

I was looking forward to meeting you and having another gold pan to toss around the track. OCRC is building a smaller secondary track in the same building for open wheel 1/10th cars only.

Next time...next time.

I'll most likely be out there sometime soon.
I'll keep you informed so we can hit the tracks together with the old RC10's.

Took some new pictures of the gold tub racers a few days ago, with the new servo I got.
Servo is a high speed, high torque, low-profile, metal gear Savox Servo pn. SC-1251MG.
The gold anodized band matches the car too! :D

Yes, still racing, and I still have the same cars, but I just painted up an original Protech for the Spring Fling Vintage Class, that's all. That body now just sits in the glass case now with the other cars.

Just something about the RC10 that keeps me coming back, the feel is fantastic. I can try newer cars and yet my old RC10 's just feel better...can't say why.

Yeah that was fun.
This all happened in one day, the first time I was going to try and run this car:

For those that werent there,
I bought a 22 from ClineHobbies here, to test it out. Last weekend, went to run it for the 1st time, and couldn't do to a bad glitch!
I tried to resolve the problem and thought I did.
1st qualifier, couldn't run due to a bad glitch again to where I couldn't even put my car down and it was glitching badly!
Changed receiver to another 27mhz one and changed to new crystals.
2nd qualifier, couldn't run again due to same intense glitching. As soon as I turn the buggy on I got huge hits to where I couldn't even put the car down.
Kept working on resolving the glitch, and found that the personal transponder parked up next to the receiver causes a bad interference, so I moved it away and placed it on the battery.
3rd qualifier, Took off and never looked back. The car was extremely quiet and smooth as silk with those big bores.
I Ended up with the TQ in the last (and my only) qualifier on my first ever full 6 min run with this car, by approx. 5 seconds.
That was cool!
During the A-Main, I was running comfortably up front until I hit a jump a little awkward that then while in the air pointed me right at the pipes that had a big slice in it and my car got jammed in there. Took the marshall approx 6 to 7 seconds to get me out due to the wedge effect, not because of the marshall, he was really trying hard to get it out! I recovered and proceeded to make my way back to the front, took the lead with less than a minute to go and was told (by Jeremy) that one of the pipes in a fast turn (where I could carry some crazy speed) had moved due to a wreck before I got there and hadn't been put back (or something like that) and my car hit a deep rut there at high speed making it traction roll end over end into the outside wall where I lost approx. 4 more seconds. After marshalling, I caught 3rd, then second, then ran out of time about 6 feet behind 1st place.
I had a great time with this car and look forward to seeing what the car can do when I put some practice and real qualifying time into it to fine tune it. I honestly thought I would be bringing up the last position since I had so many problems and couldn't run the car.
:)
For those wondering, no I am not going to give up the RC10 racers I have, I'm just experimenting and finding out the pro's and cons of this new car to see where it might have an advantage (if any) over my RC10 CE's, that's all. This was the same reason
I bought the FT B4 too. I'm a firm believer in knowing my opponents.
