Re: =09 vintage nats rigs=
Here is #2 of 3, The JRX-T
Same basic ride as last year with a new lid, mcallister toyota. Gone are the old tekin esc, brushed motor and nimh, replaced with a GTB/ss, 17.5 and SMC lipo.
The trans has been freshly upgraded with a slipper clutch and a metal ball bearing diff gear.
Servo is a futaba 9404, and there is a spektrum mini RX under all the wires.
Rear tires as pictured are the j-conepts double-dees I ran last year. I've got a new pair of hole-shots on hpi 5-star white wheels.
rear shocks are hardcoated 1.2 bodies with 1.0 shafts, which seems to be a good fit for the tall towers with the rpm arms, I know the colors don't match each other, but those are the only 2 I had.

Re: =09 vintage nats rigs=
If I could make it, here would be your competition:

LXT with RPM chassis brace, 2.19 XX Retro tranny, Jammin' servo mount. Eletronics open, anything from brushless 17.5 to brushed 27T. Andy's XXT Soda Dodge Ram body.

I got a sneek peak at Bngiles Vonats car this weekend, you guys better bring some serious 2wd cars! His car looks good enough to be a shelf queen but it's all racecar. I got intimidated just looking at it!!

Re: =09 vintage nats rigs=
Yes Freddy that was Brandon. He let me try his Frog and it was a rocket.
I won the re-re Frog kit and the kids built it last winter. We took it to a local indoor track and with the silver can and a 1800 nicd pack (2.2 tires tho) I was actually keeping pace with a couple Slashes. A couple spectators were heckling the Slash drivers that they were getting beat by a FROG!!
BTW I should be making my reservations next week. I just need to work out if I can get there for Friday too.

The preceding contained opinions, beliefs and thoughts that all may not agree with. No offense was intended at any point. Carry on.

Re: =09 vintage nats rigs=
Ok cool, cause I'm giving Brandon and his Frog, a run for his money with my Bearhawk...
out of all the classes, I thought "Classics" looked to be the most fun.
I hope we get a good "Classics" class turnout.

Re: =09 vintage nats rigs=
Here are 2 of the 3 I plan on running. The Supershot STILL needs paintwork done.
The Frog will be back. I have since put on HPI 5 star wheels. Looks better and widens the rear track considerably too. Added Tamiya CVD's, and I plan on replacing the stock steering links with turnbuckles and regular 4-40 ball ends.
