The Blitz and Slash use all metal gear trannys, I'm sure there are a few others. I dont think the radio interference was real, just urban legend.

I second the above statement.
Besides, non-magnetized metal gears that are in constant contact with one another are not exactly a set up for an interference-generating dynamo.
I suppose there are people out there who would claim that the all metal tranny would decrease transmitter range from the rear due to shielding from all the additional metal. And alloy shocks decrease range relative to plastic-bodied shocks ...
... I 've noticed that my alloy chassis cars seem much less responsive when they are upside down in the weeds than my graphite chassis cars. I wonder if the chassis is to blame?
