What year did AE use the black idler gear for the 1st generation grarbox? I know the first kits came out with the white gear but I do not know when they stopped using it.. Anyone? :)

in my opinion, they never released the gold tub RC10 with tose black pinions, they were only sold separetely as re-released parts, but I may be wrong...

i would say around '93-'94. that's when they started producing parts in that composite material, rather than the nylon. actually, it could be as early as '91, since the stealth trans gears are the same material.

i was reading the article on the tq10 in the scan archives, and it says in there that they came in the rc10 graphite kit. so that was what, '90 i think?

the black idler gears were on the rc10 graphite released in 1989. the tq10 didnt have the updated idlers when it was released. they must be good gears because mine still look new and my car is still being raced today
