Funny you should mention that hoop. I got an under body in the mail today. Let me see what I can do for you this weekend.badhoopty wrote:
make underbodies...
make one for the graphite and one for the tub. maybe do custom pulls for composite craft, rpm, etc.
i would consider running alot of my buggies if i didnt have to worry so much about scratching the tub or taking a chunk out of a graphite nose or tail.
Protech bodies coming soon?

I reposted my question to the team associated web board. There was a thread on here a few months back when I first asked it. ( http://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?t=1595 )we've all been waiting too long for these. Here is the new answer from AE:
Your name: Anthony
Electric kit referenced: Gold-pan RC10
Comments: Bodies for the original rc10 like the viper(#6121) protech (#6160) and protechII(#6173) have been on backorder for a while. Are they finally out of production, or will they be available again? there are a lot of die-hard rc10 fans waiting for these and ebay prices are getting out of hand.
The molds are being refurbished and the new/old bodies should be available in about (keep your fingers crossed) 6-8 weeks.

When I talked to Associated last month, the gent told me specifically at least the Protech was not listed to be discontinued. He did wonder why they were not making them any more though. Knowing Cliffs status at Associated, I would say his story of the molds going to China is accurate. He also told me I could share this info so nothing being hidden on his behalf.mrlexan wrote:Thanks for the info Anthony, hopefully that will turn into good news. So far I don't remember seeing anyone (point blank) saying they are discontinued.
I am sure we will see them again soon, but I am going to make my own anyway. No more waiting for me. Plus, a lot of you guys are super fast when it comes to shelf product. If Ttower gets 200 hundred in tomorrow, I know a few of you will have most of them bought up before I even fire up my PC

You lexan hoes know who you are

Don't take this as an attack though. If I could afford it, I would buy up the whole mess of them

ya, and if they'd answer their phone or respond to e-mails, we'd be in good shape.mikedealer wrote:dahm's has some underbodies in stock apparently for different cars, (they are under the subcategory for some of the cars)

I recently came to my LHS (Brussels, Belgium) and saw a sticky in a shelve with the following sentence: new, Van's Invent bodies, asked the seller and he told me that he already had ordered on-road bodies from them without any problems and that it should be easy to have some buggy bodies shipped here. Now there is something even more mysterious about Van's: how do they manage to ship here easily to a Belgian HS and not even answer e-mails or phone calls from American citizens??? Something is really wrong, but I'll try to order a few of them through him, see what happens and report to you guys, it would be a shame for me to send them back in the US... but if that is the only way, I'll do it...mrlexan wrote:mikedealer. I and others have tried relentessly to get someone at Van's to call or email us back and it appears that they have no interest in doing so. We all wish they would, it would make us all happy around here.

i dont want to buy them all up, i just want them to be available and remain in production status. i wont feel the need at all to have a stash of lids if i know i can just order a few from tower.Tadracket wrote:You lexan hoes know who you are![]()

if tower gets them in stock again, and catches up to the demand, i'll feel alot more comfortable with continuing collecting/building these things. but if it ends up were all bidding against each other on ebay for a darn 15 buck body, i'm out...

I don't blame you. Would be a shame if everyone had to fight for bodies that we all love so dear. I am going to call Cliff back in 6-8 weeks if I do not see anything on the shelves and see if we can work something out. I don't want to start making these for sell if it is going to tick off Associated. I wonder if they have a copyright on the Protech and Viper bodies?badhoopty wrote:i dont want to buy them all up, i just want them to be available and remain in production status. i wont feel the need at all to have a stash of lids if i know i can just order a few from tower.Tadracket wrote:You lexan hoes know who you are![]()

Been having problems with net still and the Area-51m just blue screened for the first time since I bought it in 8/03. I think the lightning did more than just put me on my knees and take out the 54g and my nic card.
Going to pull some parts tomorrow night. Look for pics soon (as if you have not heard that before
