That's very generous Gary. Of course I would take them off your hands if the rules of the forum relating to trade are not being circumvented.

Nice build here Alex, I was just wondering where you found that black piece for the rear of the WCS that's sitting on top of the rear bulkhead cap in this picture. Is that a Yokomo part and is the purpose of it to be extra support for the taller rear shock tower?

Standard Servo mount? Think that was bolted onto the rear cap and shock tower, as you said.

hub's in the kit are aluminium and not magnesium :)
That top deck & rear tower look familiar

The hubs with my car (along with the top deck posts) are definately magnesium - they are gradually dulling down with the other Mag parts... but then that might be because I don't think my car was built from a kit per-se'

Neat work Alex on the bulkhead modification... I too often return back to the parental home clutching R/C car bits that require fettling with my Dad's superior tools... I think they wonder if i'll ever grow up LOL! Looking at your picture & comparing it with the bulkhead on my car I don't think anything should be removed from the top face to allow for the camber plate thickness?

@ a01Butal; I think the black plastic shock tower mount/support bracket is actually a servo mounting post... well thats what the one looks like on my WCS anyway - perhaps someone recognises it from an older Yokomo model?

Dan, my dad thinks I'm nuts he tries to get me to take up golf all the time, I'm having none of it  Although to be fair he enjoyed it when we cut down the bulkhead.

The post that seems to be intriguing everyone is just a simple servo mount post. I actually took it from my Hotdog. I would presume that the post is also a standard Yr 4 part, although I can find no reference to a part number, but it is shown in the manual.

I did a few bits and pieces over the weekend.

Mounted the wing, it came with two already drilled holes from the ebay seller, which I knew would be incorrect for the car, still half the price of a new one 8).

So I recycled a large sticker from a yokomo parts box and placed that over the original holes to hide them, not prefect and I may change the sticker later on. I also placed a sticker on the underside, again to hide the holes.

I also put the fine pitch slipper assembly together.

and rebuild the shocks with the correct white shock mounts and nuts.

Finally some clearer pics of the modified rear bulkhead

Between changing my front brakes pads, viewing houses (to appease the missus) and my laptop file system deciding that it would be better off not being there. I think I did quite well

Not so much of an update. I got the front and rear suspension mounts ZD 409 in the post today. I compared them to ZD 411 the YZ 10 part. There were really no major differences between the two.

Image

ZD 409 as it came in the packet.

Image

And ZD 411

Image

The front mounts are very much identical except for the small diameter holes in ZD 409

Image

Image

The rear mounts have only subtle differences, ZD 409 on the right ZD 411 on the left.

Image

ZD 409 on the left in this picture, notice that ZD 411 has an extra mounting point.

Image

The picture shows where ZD 409 had had the extra mounting point seemingly removed by hand. You can see where the extra mounting point is on ZD 411

Image

The holes are again smaller in diameter on ZD 409

Finally the screws which are different, WCS on the left

Thanks for those pictures.... the variations of those parts are pretty much as I would have expected, I must admit that on my build I never thought i'd ever find the correct ZD-409 WCS parts - so used the later parts but installed black socket head 8/32" screws instead of the gold AE Ali screws to get a more authentic 'look' - great find in getting your parts!

You'll be pleased to know that when I drew the profile for the chassis - I left the holes at the smaller (original) size & Fibrelyte's data should also include the correct countersinking for the WCS screws.... I had to open up the holes in my chassis & deepen the c/sink to suit the 8/32 screws
