Promised myself NO more projects until what I have is finished......pfffft......yeah right.
Ok maybe Ill watch your build, just dont make it too nice ok.
LOL!

BTW, where's your build thread for it? i'd like to see it. There isn't enough Losi action on this forum

A XXT - from the ROAR Nats he won BITD, its not going to be a 'Kinwald Edition' like the buggy, but a replica of the one he used at the race. I've already got the lightened plate anodised black and found a 'team' trinity motor for it, really looking forward to painting a shell like he had, that'll be a cool challenge. I need a break from XX/XXT's though so be nice to do this XX4 first.

I don't want to rush the builds as I know once done I'll want another project

I don't have enough parts yet! Still at the hoarding stagger I'm afraid. I hope to get some more bits at the end of the month, then I can make a start.

Re: Jamin's Losi XX4 - Small Update

Post by jamin »

Made some progress on the build this week, waiting for some parts to arrive for the street weapon, so thought I'd make a start on my XX4.

I've accumulated a fair few parts now and I am nearly ready to put this together. I really don't want this build to look like a 'Worlds Edition' so I am going to try and use parts similar to the original kit, although still in graphite. However I am using the low-CG chassis. I wont be using threaded shocks, even though i've finally found a set of NIP Trinity collars - they might go on my SW build now. I have a full set of yellow 5 spoke wheels - again not using the WE disc wheels.

One idea I had was that I wanted an original set of graphite shock towers (the original versions without the extra cross-bracing) but haven't had much luck on that front, and wasnt expecting to either. So I took the ones I had and modified them to look like the originals, and I must say I am pretty happy with the results. They still need a little more attention, but overall I am happy. I know its only a minor thing, but its the little details that count, right?
Cross bracing removed....
Cross bracing removed....
I am going to place an order with Horizon soon so I can get the transmission built up, oh and I need a set of bearings - I'll just get a cheap set from ebay as the car won't be a runner.

Stay tuned...
