How thick will your waterjet cut? It may be easier to just cut out clamps, either associated style with ears or delta type with the setscrew. I would imagine it would be a pretty simple cut either way....then we can always anno them if needed

Might even be able to get with a 3d printer and make some realistic looking upsize units.

I don't think the finished part would look that great if I cut little rings on the waterjet. Plus, I would have to connect them with tabs to keep from losing them in the tank, which would have to be filed down. For such a small part, it wouldn't make a very great looking finished part at that thickness. It will cut aluminum several inches thick though!

Last resort, I'll have some machined. Kind of a pita though.

Maybe they are a touch large. There are members here who can lathe them. I know that. Got nice CRP copies from Jake a couple years ago.

Don´t know if these could be used.
It´s from the blue aluminum hop up shocks for the Academy Road Runner.
they messure 9,2 mm, but it should be possible to drill them up to 9,5 mm.

it comes from having a mass of parts and trying to sort them into complete cars. There's not much holding up most of them, but sometimes finding those last few parts can be a pain!

planning? I already did! I needed something white that would alow me to mount it between the front uprights. worked like a charm!

those would be cool if i could find them! I could strip and polish them.

Maybe I can just get some shaft collars from McMaster with about a .5" OD and open up the center. I still would have to figure out seats though.

I definitely won't be mass producing parts to sell, I just don't have the time, but if I cut some extras I'll let you know. They might need a little file work, holes drilled, or surface finished but it's better than starting from scratch!

A little progress here and there.

Since unclemikey1978 hooked me up with the missing springs, I could finish assembling the front end on the all black car. -shocks installed, zip-tie limiting straps installed, sway bar installed


Also got the cage polished! There's a lot of scrapes and gouges that wouldn't sand/polish out, but I'm ok with that.


Once I get the trans detailed and some plastic parts polished, it will come together faster.

Started to assemble the MIP car too. Can't decide if I like the red hardware or not. There's some other red accents I was going to add in addition to red ano wheels.
I wish the front arms matched the MIP parts better! It will be cool to get this one assembled though!


Work, holidays, travel, and a baby on the way haven't left me as much time lately to work on this stuff!

Love the MIP front end on the last one - I'm guessing those aren't available anymore? Also, do you have any suggestions on how to improve the stock steering but still use the stock radio box?

Those are looking great so far. Like I said earlier, the MIP car looks great. I'd skip the red hardware as I don't think it was readily available back in the day.
