I might run it a couple of times... but if I'm to be completely honest, I don't even run my "runners"...

Re: 1990s RC10 Vintage Racer Build
Light day in the (home) office, so I spent a little time after lunch masking where the chassis will be cut. I'm cutting 5/16" off the sides. I've tried to get each side symmetrical... which I think I have. But then I look at the pictures and it looks like I've been drinking while masking this off. I swear it looks good in real life!

It looks to me like it should take off a decent chunk of weight while not taking away much stiffness. I think it'll look nice too.
. . . you have Associated Green Slime for brains. And not even new Green Slime, but old gooped out Green Slime.

Re: 1990s RC10 Vintage Racer Build
Happy new year... mini update here. Over the Christmas holidays I scored a set of 3 piece rear wheels and tires from someone relatively local for $11. I now have a matching set, I'm still not 100% sure that I'm going to use these...we'll see how it feels as I progress. I haven't cut the chassis yet, need to find my larger metal file... or purchase a new set.

Those are the tires I'm looking for I think. Got a late CE and the fronts look like that. The tires look like those...but sadly it had the older jelly bean rims in the rear....watching this thread. Looking good.

Re: 1990s RC10 Vintage Racer Build
So I finally spent some quality time with my dremel. Cut the sides of the chassis down as well as some other vintage chassis mods.
Nothing major to report...

Very nice build! I have an infinity for these Early gold tub RC tens. I'm in the process of finishing up a Boxart restoration on A Cadillac A-stamp, and I just purchased a brand-new in the box 1990 championship edition gold tub c- stamp from a hobby shop it was just sitting on the shelf and they took 175 bucks for it!:)
