Thanks. I used music wire or piano wire. You can get it at any hobby shop. I can't remember the size off the top of my head though, just take the mounts with you and make sure it will fit in the hole! You get three lengths of 3 feet for a few dollars.

Got to put my new Hudy 1/10 off road set up station to use. Wonderful tool, and if you have used Hudy tools before, you understand. I found some of my original settings to be a bit off, I will post and update the correct measurements later when I get a chance.

I took this car out to a loamy basher track on Sunday. Got about five minutes of driving in and snapped a front replica arm. Went to the track again yesterday, got in about another five minutes and snapped a rear arm from a bad landing. The Shapeways parts are not as tough as I thought.

Overall, I like the car. It handles well in loam. I had a chance to run it back to back with my dialled RC10 Worlds. I felt the 91 had less push (understeer) than the 93 car. They both were running the same tires, Losi Step Pin rears and 4 rib front, but the 93 had OEM wide B4 front wheels. The 91 wheels were narrowed.

So what happened to snap the front arm, and how bad was the landing that snapped the rear arm?

I'm still building mine, but I have found that I have to grind some material away on the front arm to obtain clearance between the inside of the arm and the steering rack (for when the rack is at full throw and the front suspension is compressed). I have also found that I have to remove some material from the rear arm to avoid it getting bound up by the chassis. This will make the arms a little weaker, but it also means I have to do that work all over again if I have to replace the arm. Small price to pay, I guess.

I do wonder how an aluminum tub RC10 with a 10T/Worlds front and long arms (RPM or Dynotech) would fare against a NIX '91. It would be heavier, but quite a lot more durable.

There was a pretty spectacular barrel roll after catching a root in the track.

Here is a side by side pic of the aluminum tub, with 10T nose, dynotech arms, normal axle with See's front wheels by the NIX car. I'm sure with wide front axles on the tub car the track would better match the NIX91, but it's still way wider at the chassis. My guess is that the RC10 is more durable in the end.

How does the aluminum tub drive with the 10T nose, compared to the NIX '91? Have you had a chance to compare?

The tub car handles nice, but not as smooth as the NIX car. Both are well balanced, although as of right now, I want more weight in the front of the NIX.
