That's one really fine work of art. The more I looked at it, the more movement I found.

Thank you NomadRacer. Yes, I noticed that the checkered flag kind of looks like it's waving in the wind.NomadRacer wrote: ↑Thu Aug 24, 2017 10:20 pm That's one really fine work of art. The more I looked at it, the more movement I found.

That looks awesome! I saw it on FB as well. He just finished up a custom LXT body for me as well.

Re: Aftermath of photobucket crash...My RC10T2 ebay restoration
No decent pics yet due to the monsoon we've been having here in FL for the past two weeks, but I received the new body and got it all mounted up. I had to get creative with the rear body posts since this is a T3 style body. I think you guys will like the way I did it when I get to take some decent outdoor sun-shiney pictures.
Just wondering how I'm going to go about mounting the rear wing? 3M double-sided foam tape? Mini screws, washers, and nuts?

I captured a few pics today. I think the natural sunlight does wonders at bringing out the colorful details in the body's contours. Andy's natural artwork does most of the work. At last, and without further ado:

Re: Aftermath of photobucket crash...My RC10T2 ebay restoration
I modified some old T2 body mounts by cutting off the nubs that rest in the extra body mount holes in the tower, so that the mounts would turn at an angle. I found my desired angle and tightened them down. For the body posts I used a plastic shock eyelet from another model as a standoff spacer, and used longer button head screws to secure the body posts to the mount. I topped it off with shock o-rings to protect the paint from damage.
I also cut some 1/2" x 1-1/4" pieces of velcro (the soft side) and placed them on the chassis' sides for extra protection.

Re: Aftermath of photobucket crash...My RC10T2 ebay restoration
Talk about being lucky!
I happened to find what I think to be the very last NIP set of yellow front and rear RC10T2 wheels on the planet (Thanks to Andrew Rizzo), and...I accidentally found a set of four NIP Proline Speed Hawg tires that was mislabeled on ebay as "Proline Speed Hangs" for $22! Not saying what I paid for the wheels, lol! Pics when they arrive.

Re: Aftermath of photobucket crash...My RC10T2 ebay restoration
I received my NIP yellow front and rear T2 rims yesterday, and I loosely mounted the Pro-Line Speed Hawg tires onto them to get some pics. I'm not sure if I'm going to glue 'em and use 'em, or just keep them unglued for show for the sole reason of them being so rare.
But, here is the final product of my build:
