Yes, those rear shocks appear to be Kyosho Golds, but I can't tell the difference between those and the Duratrax or whoever ripoffs. There was a post around here somewhere which showed the difference. If they ARE Kyosho gold shocks, you could sell those off to recoup some of the money you laid out for the cars. I would think you could get at least $25 a pair for them.

Well I took the JRX2 apart last night to assess the situation and I am a little sad. I am thinking that this thing was either literally rode hard and put away wet or it was in a flood! Every single hinge/king pin, e-clip, metal piece has rust on it. That and I need a new front bulkhead and a-arms at the least. But it is used and expected.
The rear gold shocks are really weird to me. There is no removable cartridge on the bottom. I am going to see what they are as they might be needed for someone's Kyosho or something.

Really?! This is more than surface rust though. The tranny hex bolts literally dusted me with rust when I took it apart. The diff is like this as well. The thrust bearing assembly is still lubbed from the kit grease, but the whole thing is rusted. Doesn't really bother me too much, just means more work to take the rust off and clean. But hey, isn't that the fun?!

Re: Well, it is a start!!!
Mine got like that and I have had it 20 years so I know its never been wet just in a box. I have taken apart a lot of Losi and almost always through away the pins and bolts. I buy stainless in bulk and just replace all of them and pitch the stock or put them on one I fix up to sell. anything I build for my self I use SS bolts and Titianium on pins a turn buckles. they dont rust.
